• Source games cause my internet connection to die

Ok so I've had this problem for a while now, I don't remember when it started. Basically, my ping is fine and stable in every game except ones which run on the source engine. My ping spikes badly for a few minutes then goes up to 700+ and cuts out my entire internet connection until I disconnect from the server. I'm using a Tenda w322P+ wireless PCI card and the O2 router which came free with our broadband subscription. I'm running Windows 7 x64 Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd like to reiterate "my ping is fine and stable in every game except ones which run on the source engine" so don't just give me the generic answer of "wireless no good for games!" Thanks.
I've had a similar problem with a NetGear router, however I couldn't even join the servers. The server list showed up, but as soon as I tried to connect to one of the servers a window popped up telling me that the server didn't respond, and then I was unable to connect to the Internet until I restarted the router. Solved it by resetting the router.
Hmm. It could be the router not liking the way source does its networking, but then it could equally be the wireless card or something more obscure.
