Specifications: CPU: Phenom II 920 @ 3.5 GHZ Cooler: Corsair H50 w/ 2 Fans - Push/Pull GPU: ATi HD5850 RAM: 6GB Motherboard: Biostar TA790GX 128m HDD(s): 1 X 250 GB, 1 X 500GB, 1 X 320GB Case: Antec 300 Monitors: 1 X Acer H223H 23" 1080p and 1 X Sony SDM-HS75P 15" Not entirely sure what to upgrade or add to my computer. Every end of the year, i usually upgrade it and have something new in it. I'm deciding to get an SSD for a boot drive and some high rpm fans or another 23 inch monitor, if nothing else seems necessary to get.
probably a Vertex 2 other than that I don't see much worth changing, if you don't have any fans in the front of the 300 then get two gentle typhoons
Wait 6GB? Aren't all amd cpus dual channel based.. wait what what
Wait 6GB? Aren't all amd cpus dual channel based.. wait what what
So? maybe he bought 3 single channel modules, or 1 dual channel kit and an extra 2 GB module.
or maybe even 2x3gb I noticed that lots of HP computers had 6GB RAM
Why not get a second 5850? They're only $200 and still run everything well. (could I be wrong?) Cross-firing might be a good option for you, unless you could sell your 5850 and use that money combined with that to buy a better card...? Wait, do you have a crossfire motherboard..?
well on Newegg's page it looks like it has 2 PCI-E 2.0 16x slots so Crossfire is an option [editline]wefe[/editline] unless you have the AM2+/AM3 version, which only has 1 PCI-E slot
So? maybe he bought 3 single channel modules, or 1 dual channel kit and an extra 2 GB module.
I have 2 X 2GB Dual Channel Kits and 2 X 1 GB Dual Channel Kits. I'm looking into SSD's and the vertex 2's looks tempting to get. As for crossfiring my 5850, i'm gonna wait till games start becoming more demanding for my current computer. Edit: I ordered a Vertex 2 60 GB and some fans. Can't wait to install it!

That's why I suggested it. http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=377
2 PCI-E slots doesn't automatically mean grat for crossfire/sli though really you want to make sure the slots are 8x/8x or higher
Read the link. (16x) or (8x/8x)
yeah I checked it, I'm just saying 2 PCI-E 16x physical slots doesn't always mean it will handle two 5970s or whatever well
