Is there a way to Overclock my 8500GT without using my BIOS? I'm asking this because my BIOS was locked in the factory. Therefore not letting me Overclock.
Tried RivaTuner?
No...
No...
Give it a shot. Works great with my nVidia cards.
Okay I downloaded it and have explored all tabs, I'm guessing I ahould be looking in Power user for Overclocking? Hell I don't know where to start with RivaTuner
First tab, second Customize button. Power User is like the programs registry, no need to touch it. Unless you're using an unsupported driver version.
Am I supposed to unlock professional capabilities?
Um, I don't remember that dialogue. Basically, first tab, second Customize icon, click the first icon going from left to right. This will give you overclocking options.
Am I supposed to unlock professional capabilities?
If you really don't know that much about overclocking I suggest you don't, or at least read up on it first.
The second icon is low level refresh rates [editline]08:45PM[/editline]
If you really don't know that much about overclocking I suggest you don't, or at least read up on it first.
I know about it but RivaTuner is confusing me
You obviously don't know about it. You are probably going to do something stupid.
I know how to overclock from BIOS but not from a third party program
You can't overclock your graphics card from the BIOS. The BIOS is used for overclocking your CPU, chipset and RAM. nVidia has released their own set of tools for overclocking (it adds the overclocking options to the nvidia control panel): http://www.nvidia.com/object/nvidia_system_tools.html
Thanks For posting that
If you're really confused about OCing with Rivatuner go onto the forums and look around. People know things there.
Could use a needle with a very fine point.
Ntune.
You think you can overclock your video card using your BIOS, Themage? I recommend you don't try overclocking your video card if you think that.

Another thing, those cards don't overclock for shit, maybe 5/10MHz on the core 15MHz max on mems, but that's it, you'll only get 1/2 fps more in games..
