It's a little bit late for that.
How can there be so very many bugs? Did they not even try and test the game before launch, or do the keep adding more with patches?
Usually when they fix one bug, a dozen other bugs show up.
The lovely curse of debugging.
Hahaha, i've heard a similar joke about SimCity!
How can there be so very many bugs? And EA's QA budget for BF4, stupidly low.
They should start by increasing the tickrate.
They should start by increasing the tickrate.
That's actually something they are experimenting with in some servers soon! :D
Tickrate Players have been asking whether the tickrate – how often the server will update the game world – in Battlefield 4 will be higher in the future. Though we haven’t got any immediate plans to increase the tickrate at this moment, we are exploring the possibilities of raising the tickrate on specific servers.
How is it too late to fix an unstable game?
Becuase it was unstable for ~4 months and people got tired of it?
Becuase it was unstable for ~4 months and people got tired of it?
It's never too late to improve the quality of a game, and DICE has done nothing short of great job fixing the mess EA made for releasing this game early.
It's never too late to improve the quality of a game, and DICE has done nothing short of great job fixing the mess EA made for releasing this game early.
So far DICE improved the quality by empty promises and patches that fix one thing and break another.
I remember the golden age of never when battlefields launched bug-free and never had bugs arrive in patches.
It's never too late to improve the quality of a game, and DICE has done nothing short of great job fixing the mess EA made for releasing this game early.
Stop brown nosing, for heavens sake dude. Some people bought this game that I know, and are STILL unable to play it because of horrendous crashes and bugs. Some got tired of the stupidly long load times, and some just got bored of the repeated crap that 'EA' or 'DICE'(they both seem to have the same idea of a proper game) said they'd be implementing, and fixing, but never do. Yeah yeah, EA rushed Dice to push the game out. So? Does that mean that people cannot complain that the game is STILL broken months after its release? That doesn't mean shit. oh but my game and hundreds and thousands of others work so yours must just be broken That argument I've heard repeated so many times is baffling, and I know you would have said it because dozens others have, and you say it in pretty much every thread dealing with Battlefield 4 thread.
So far DICE improved the quality by empty promises and patches that fix one thing and break another.
While a good deal of players still experience the same shitty issues. DICE has improved stability and overall quality of the game for many people and computer configurations. Empty promises? They fixed tons of major issues the majority of the player base have been experiencing since day. The patches they released in January fixed so many global and server side issues. Patches fix one thing and breaks another!? Welcome to debugging a game that shouldn't have been released for another year. [editline]4th March 2014[/editline]
Stop brown nosing, for heavens sake dude.
You should learn the defintion of brown-nosing, because i'm not doing such. I don't support the actions of EA releasing a clearly unfinished game to the public.
Some people bought this game that I know, and are STILL unable to play it because of horrendous crashes and bugs.
It's unacceptable that so many people are STILL experiencing issues, but i'm not gonna blame the developer for something out of their hands.
Yeah yeah, EA rushed Dice to push the game out. So? Does that mean that people cannot complain that the game is STILL broken months after its release? That doesn't mean shit.
No, if your game is broken you better complain until it's fixed! But why be negative to the people who are busting their asses off fixing something they weren't ready to release?
oh but my game and hundreds and thousands of others work so yours must just be broken
Anyone with that mentality is dumb, BF4 is broken for many people.
That argument I've heard repeated so many times is baffling, and I know you would have said it because dozens others have, and you say it in pretty much every thread dealing with Battlefield 4 thread.
I don't say it because dozens of others have said it, I say it because that's my opinion. How easy do you think it is to fix so wide spread issues across 5 platforms, one platform consisting of thousands of hardware configurations? Do you think they just swing a magic wand and issues are fixed? You manipulated lines of codes to fix one thing, you potentially break 20 other things. Learn how game design works.
DICE has improved stability and overall quality of the game for many people and computer configurations.

BF4 is broken for many people
I'm not even gonna bother arguing with you. Also lay off with dumbs please, opinion that you don't agree with =/= stupid opinion.
Invisible surfaces are probably the most annoying thing ever, and there are a lot of those. Like having a clear shot off some specific tall building, but the bullets literally HIT an invisible wall right in front of you. Absolutely ridiculous. [editline]4th March 2014[/editline] No way they can fix all of those spots in every map, actually. I don't believe this has anything to do with netcode issues or stability issues either, just badly finished/tested terrain and stuff.
I wonder if the memory leak problem that forced me to fucking reboot my machine every 2-3 maps, has been fixed. The fucking thing would start leaking memory so bad, it would go from small stutter to freeze in 2 minutes, and the memory wouldn't get released when I killed the game, so I had to reboot.
I'm not even gonna bother arguing with you. Also lay off with dumbs please, opinion that you don't agree with =/= stupid opinion.
DICE has improved stability for many players, but many experience issues. Don't try to use my own words against me, because you're clearly missing the point. The game is stable for half the fanbase, the game is broken for half the fanbase. 3 months ago the game was broken for most people. The point is DICE is making progress in fixing this mess.
And then there are issues in the game that everyone shares..

Why are you such a champion of their defense?
I'm sorry to say but after 4 months, the game still isn't mostly fixed. I have already given up. It's a shame as I loved BF3. [editline]666[/editline] Also shouldn't DICE have committed to fixing their netcode, what, 5+ games ago?
The fact that half the players can't play the game they bought for over 4 months is terrible. Why are you such a champion of their defense?
I don't really see anywhere where he disagreed with that idea.
Not to mention, they're just now attempting to fix the netcode? The netcode's always been terrible. Why are they just now fixing it?
The fact that half the players can't play the game they bought for over 4 months is terrible. Why are you such a champion of their defense?
Did you even read what I said?
Becuase it was unstable for ~4 months and people got tired of it?
Honestly this is my reason. People have just told me to get better, but there really is an issue here
It's never too late to improve the quality of a game, and DICE has done nothing short of great job fixing the mess EA made for releasing this game early.
As much as I agree that it can still be fixed, by this point it's quite likely that the game's reputation is sealed and people won't come back to it even if it does start working. Leaving a game that was broken on release in such a state for several months, all while releasing DLC for it, is pretty bad. Also this is the third time they've said that fixing the game is their number one priority, and after the last two times they just released more DLC. Don't get me wrong, I do hope they fix it, and I would love to play an actually functional version of BF4, but at this point it's easy for people to lose faith in the developers.
Ive only played this game for 5 hours, its just unbearable. Shame, I had high expectations. edit: I got it when it came out, I understood launchday bugs etc, but then I tried it 4 months later and really nothing changed.
Even if you try to argue that it doesn't have many bugs (which it fucking does), the netcode is still a piece of shit. Sometimes I die a full second before I see someone peeking at me, the infantry combat feels broken. This is on low ping servers with no problem on my line, it's like the servers run a tiny tickrate with the worst lag compensation. Then you have the terrible balance, where the best weapons are all-class carbines meaning everyone plays engineer, plus any retard can jump into a vehicle and get 1000+ spm. Do yourself a pleasure and play a good shooter like CSGO until they actually fix this mess.
So far DICE improved the quality by empty promises and patches that fix one thing and break another.
The patches have made my BF4 copy work perfectly, so you're full of shit. Only problem left for me is the netcode Disagree? I think I goddamn know how well the game works for me or not
