• Stuttering/Microstuttering in Games

Feel like I'm always posting in here with an issue these days. Alas, here we go. So I got a GTX 1070 not too long ago, and I've been starting to notice a few issues that don't seem right. When playing Mirror's Edge Catalyst I noticed horrible stuttering, even with vsync on which I have on most of the time now as ever since the upgrade I've been getting screen tearing in pretty much every game. The FPS is shown as being a stable 60fps, and even turning vsync off, the stuttering still takes place, yet my FPS is shown as being well over 60. Adaptive vsync, triple buffering, does nothing to fix it, although it does reduce it somewhat. At first I didn't see this in other games, but I'm positive I've started to notice it in things like Witcher 3 in the past few days but nowhere near as bad as it is in ME. Overwatch as well has the issue, the stuttering is really weird, if I use a controller to move the camera super slowly, its as if things are just lagging behind slightly and jittering as it catches up or something. As far as I can tell not every game has the issue. I'm pretty sure I don't notice it in Rise of the Tomb Raider, Doom or Dark Souls 3. In DS3 and maybe Doom I feel I'd notice an odd hitch here and there, but I feel that this might just be me actively looking for any problem that you'd normally overlook. I've no idea whats causing it, I've removed things from my PC that were said to have been causing it for other people (f.lux for example) yet nothing seems to fix it. I'm also positive it isn't my HDD as having games on the SSD makes no difference, plus I only upgraded my HDD recently as my old one died. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I also tried reseating my GPU but that didn't accomplish anything except somehow removing the screen tearing I got in the Steam UI Specs: GTX 1070 i7 4790K 16GB RAM Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 7 Motherboard Here are a couple of gpu usage graphs from while I was testing the stuttering on overwatch earlier, I'm not sure if these show a problem are not, it doesn't really make much sense to me. ok after screwing around with a few more things i think i may have ruled out the gpu, i inserted my old 770 and I'm pretty sure the issue still persisted - including the increased screen tearing in games i've encountered ever since upgrading to the 1070. I've also updated the bios which did nothing. im even more lost as to whats causing this now, because i dont see that im getting any other issues anywhere else. I have two displays and I've tried the other one and I still get the same issues as well.
OK i may have found out what the problem is. On the Nvidia forums I've seen loads of people complaining about a DPC latency issue on 1070s and 1080s. nvidia released a hotfix driver but it's not done much for a lot of people, me included. I ran one of the programs while playing ME:C and this is what it said: [t]http://i.imgur.com/DDmnGXi.png[/t] I'm assuming this means it could be the dpc issue I'm getting, I hope so since it'd be good to have finally found out what this is.
