• Win 7: Audio plays for a minute, then all audio services stop. Mysterious...

I just recently transitioned my home server over to be a gaming desktop. I was in the process of installing all the usual stuff on it when I noticed something strange. The audio will play for about a minute, then all of the audio related services restart. It's on a Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H (rev. 2.1) motherboard Netgear Rangemax WN311B PCI lan card (with this neat little box as an antenna) AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2GHz No video card (haven't picked it up yet) 750 watt corsair PS crap tons of hard drive space, because server. The machine is dual booted, and the other OS (server 2008, I'll bet you can't guess why I installed a new OS :v: ) doesn't seem to have the problem at all. The audio cuts out, then after a minute or so, the services restart. I downloaded the latest updates from the mobo manu website, looked around windows' fairly barren options panels, installed CCCP, tried VLC, tried MPC, uninstalled and reinstalled both Avast AV free and comodo firewall (broke my internet, didn't fix anything). I've tried a bunch of things, but I'm open to suggestions. ===Update: Solution=== Seems to be fixed. I had a mysterious popup from winlogon, googled it, found out it was a root kit. Kaspersky disk couldn't see my wifi card, so on a whim I popped in my W7 disk and ran startup repair. Startup repair actually fixed something!? v:v:v
