The ending was absolutely amazing and worth playing. I recommend it.
The controls are awful, the brothers aren't interesting, and the story is full of contrivances. It looks okay but it isn't a very good game in my opinion.

Well it's made to be played with an Xbox controller.

I played it on a 360 controller. The brothers move like arse.

To expand on that. You control each brother with a thumbstick, meaning you have no camera control. This could have worked fine, except for two glaring issues, the brothers' movement is clunky at the best of times being both sluggish and inaccurate to your control, and the camera moves fucking constantly so pressing up doesn't mean the same thing second to second.
Imagine playing Resident Evil 2 without tank controls, but you still have a fixed camera. Brothers has all the same problem that would have. The lack of any real story and the bland characters doesn't redeem this fact.
The game has a handful (as in less than five) of properly great scenes, but everything else in the game is sub-par.
I went into this game blind, and it was the only game that ever made me cry.

At five bucks, everyone should play this.

I have no idea what you're talking about, I didn't have that issue at all. There are times where controls are hard but they did this on purpose, you're supposed to actually FEEL the strain they are feeling, but it isn't in an inconvenient way at all. It's only as accurate as you can make it, and it's pretty damn accurate. In fact, the controls are too simple to really mess up, and very much inventive at the same time, making it fun.
Also, bland characters, no story. They show a lot of character despite no speaking vocally at all. I don't know why you expect some long complex plotline though, it's not meant to be complex at all. It's meant to be understood by visuals. Did you finish it?

I don't remember the controls being bad at all. I guess a case could be made that it can be confusing at first controlling two characters at once, but you get used to it quick. Past that it's simple and easy to use. I remember the good controls actually being one of the best parts of the game, and at one point it becomes a narrative device (it makes sense in context, honest.)
Played it a while ago but I don't remember having any trouble with the controls at all. I enjoyed it.
If you have a hard time operating two thumbsticks independently how do you do anything that involves the use of your legs or arms

what if they have only one limb
didn't think of that did you
HUH????
The characters are boring and badly written, the puzzles are way too easy, the controls are garbage (although I suppose they're as good as the concept allows), the world is for the most part generic and the story is uninteresting. Although it has an interesting narrative, and a pretty decent ending, it's not really worth your time for any other reasons.

Just to add, the controls are garbage not only because they'll get you killed more times than anything else in the game, but because they break any kind of immersion you might have had. Spotting that one brother has been running into a wall for five seconds because you were focused on moving the other one is annoying as shit and happens way too often.

Sometimes I assume that the brother towards the left of the screen is controlled by the left thumbstick and the right brother by the right thumbstick, even though I might be wrong. Besides that I didn't have a problem with the controls.

I didn't have a problem controlling the characters because you control each with a separate stick (though I do think it's a terrible design choice), I had trouble because the characters are sluggish to move and turn, and they don't go in the direction the stick points 100% of the time, which is especially noticeable when the camera shifts.
I thought I would really enjoy the game, but it was just meh.
