"PhD validated" doesn't really mean anything...just that the system works theoretically (assuming the PhD covers that and isn't in say, Biology). Did they not have a "rep" system on the 360? Did that not receive tons of abuse as players would get their friends/ clan mates/ youtube drones/ alt accounts out to massively down-rep a player they didn't like?
This is going to cause more problems than it solves I expect. Even with the checks in place, people will find ways to abuse and game the system to their advantage.

The 360 rep system didn't really affect anything. It looks like the new system will check a lot of things instead of just menu options, which seems pretty cool.
Yeah, the "PhD" nonsense is just like the graphs going around about gun control. Means absolutely nothing!
Hopefully the checks stop abuse from ruining it too much, these kinds of systems could be quite a useful thing to have in a lot of games.

Probably because once your rep went up, it never went back down or did anything ever.
I don't think I've actually seen someone on the 360 with a rep lower than the default 3 stars.

I think I have like a 40% avoidance rate... with five stars.
Sounds cool, it's just a shame that usually people either forget or don't care enough to report in my experience.
What if you are one of those people who go into a game and press "Mute All" because you don't want to hear anyone?
