I don't particularly want to build a laptop from scratch (so I can get an accidental damage service/big snubby fingers won't properly fit inside a laptop case), could anyone give me some good recommendations?
So far all I've got is XoticPC and Dell (because I get like a 25% discount with them), for the most part someone preferably registered with the BBB.
Any help appreciated! :D
Ebay and the shady persian dealer at the flea market.
ASUS, MSI, and Acer are some pretty good laptop suppliers. Also what is your budget on a laptop???

I checked ASUS' site, but I didn't see anywhere to buy directly from them. :(
Budget is 1,800 (rounded down) at max, Would prefer to keep it under 1,500 though.

Oh you want to buy directly from them, sorry misunderstood.

Yarr, someone who actually sends you the laptop (Ie; prebuilt from newegg/amazon, or custom-built from dell/xoticpc/digitalstorm/what have you).
For the actual brand I'm thinking ASUS, since they have a wonderful default warranty policy.
What are you using the laptop for? Cause for $1500 you can get a beast of a desktop.
Mostly multimedia, preferably something able running Smooth Video Project decently (it's like an SSD, you can't go back D:), most likely no games that would require actual power from the GPU.
Something that'll last me for a while as well, so not 'hurr typical laptop' but rather 'hurr typical laptop in 2 years'.
[sp]The actual budget is like, 3,000 but that could be spent on other technology-related stuff instead. Not to mention completely idiotic to spend that much on any sort of computer that isn't a server/workstation. (And even then.)[/sp]
MSI

ASUS

All of them should be enough for what you need, But if you can I would say build a desktop unless you need the portability.
Already got a desktop, need something good that's still portable (AKA not a desktop replacement)
Alright, well the MSI's I linked have the more powerful GPU's compared to the ASUS's I linked but I believe ASUS has slightly better customer service if you wanna go for that.
Any good ASUS's with dual drives? Planning on placing a spare SSD for the OS drive.
Or are they already capable of fitting them and they just won't tell me :argh:

Eh I'm not to sure, desktops are more my thing than laptops. Sorry bro.

Alright, that's cool. I think I've got a general idea of what I'll get.
Thanks for the assistance,
MSI and ASUS laptops are overpriced. If you're contemplating XoticPC get a clevo/sager laptop.

Something like the Sager NP5165 is good for mobility, and the NP8150 with the HD6990M is a beast, although it's a desktop replacement so it wouldn't be good for you.
