So, I just bought a new sound card, the Xonar DX I plugged in the cable nice and snug, and I made sure, so something else is wrong. When I ran the driver and restarded the computer it said " Internal power not detected, etc etc" So now I have no sound how do I fix this I have tried Disabling Onboard sound Reinstalling drivers Making sure it is plugged in I do have the floppy connecter, it is in. Please help me, I want sound
Xonar cards can be a pain to get working on Windows. Try uninstalling all the audio drivers you can find(again) and re-installing the DX drivers. If that doesn't work try a different power cable and/or PCI-E slot. If you still can't get it to work it could be a bad card. (And why does it even need a second power connector? There's no reason a sound card should need more than 10W)
If it is a bad card, how do I get my onboard audio working again? [editline]20th December 2013[/editline] Holy fuck as soon as I posted that I heard an error ding in my headphones, holy shit holy shit it works. I don't know what I did to make it do that. [editline]20th December 2013[/editline] Okay, so how do I increase the bass for my headphones, only asus shit is showing up in my audio panel [editline]20th December 2013[/editline] Ok, I need a program called Xonar DX audio center, did not come with disks, cannot find download anywhere where do I get it?
ASUS's support site is a POS so I can't directly like to anything, but got to [url]http://www.service.asus.com/#!downloads/c1wax[/url] and search for "Xonar DX" and get the latest driver version. That might include the software you need. In the future never install drivers off the included CD, always get the latest version from the website.
I know, I had to install unofficial drivers for it to work. But I literally cannot find a fucking software so I can tweak my audio, cause right now there is absolutely no bass it is quiet and it makes a buzz noise when like someone sings a high note. Fuck this, it was a waste of 90 dollars. [editline]20th December 2013[/editline] What the fuck, I finally find the software, I open it and it says my Xonar DX isn't powered on. what. [editline]20th December 2013[/editline] I can't even open the program after that message, fucking ASUS
What are you trying to drive with the sound card? If you're using speakers or <64Ω headphones you shouldn't need to touch an equalizer.
I am using Audio Technica ATH m50 and I need to have bass boost, because there is none ever since I got this fucking card. And now it is much more quiet. [editline]20th December 2013[/editline] When I go into the playback propertys for it there is no enhancement tab where I can enable equilization or bass boost, like what the fuck. I am really pissed because this sound is even worse than the onboard audio on my old motherboard.
Ahh, I love my ATH m50s You might want to contact ASUS at this point, it shouldn't need bass boost if everything is working properly. If you can you could try returning the sound card and getting a USB DAC like the Fiio E10. Haven't used it myself, but I've head good things about it.
Are you using stock or unified drivers?
Stock, unified does not work for me.
