Also because it's got the graphical power of a PC from two years ago , rather than one almost 7 years ago
Nintendo should learn from the Wii. Release a normal controller along with the funky motion controller. That way, you don't annoy the heck out game developers and gamers who just a traditional control scheme.
Also, a console being a harder to program for is rather bad. It's one of the reason why PS3 gamers are treated as second class citizens. The game developers are too lazy to make quality ports for PS3.

What, did the PS3 suddenly get a normal CPU and stop sharing its memory?

As long as the Wii-remote is still being continued with the Wii U and its "future" new models developers can just shape their games around the Classic Controller attachment.

To be fair, developing for the Wii U looks like it should be similar to developing for iOS devices, since those also have touchscreens, as well as maybe developing for the Kinect and similar motion control stuff, if the in-build camera can be used for similar purposes.
Let me clarify that statement, this is in terms of UI and player-machine interaction; development in the graphical and programming department for the Wii U would definitely be more complex than when developing said stuff on iOS.
Well, like I said, developing for the Wii U's touchscreen would be similar to developing for iOS touchscreen devices, which doesn't seem TOO complicated to me, even though I haven't been educated to develop for such devices.
Maybe they had a developer on staff who developed for touchscreen devices.

From what developers said so far, the Wii U seems to be really easy to program for. Cliff Bleszinski seems to get a boner just thinking about it.
