• Samsung Omnia II and Swypes

So I went out and bought a Samnsung Omnia II. I found out shortly after I bought it that it's the same phone used for the Guiness Record of fasted text message sent. It supposedly uses a technology called "Swype". You basically trace a path over the letters on the keyboard and it writes the words. Now, the thing is, I have no idea how to activate Swype or if I need some sort of software update for the phone itself. Does anyone know?
I can download Swype for free on Android. Don't know how to on Samsung's though.
Predictive text effectivly.
Predictive text effectivly.
no, not really. Predictive text fills common used words as you type them; it's an autocomplete. Swype is more of a new way of telling the phone what character to put in next, without having to lift your finger off of the phone, unlike an actual button keyboard. They're two different things.
It works by seeing that you stopped and changed direction say over the "a" button then over the "n" button then over the "d." button. It puts this together to create and, this allows people to type faster by just swiping instead of lifting your fingers and tapping. The application is available on android and windows mobile. The omnia line runs the latter. My dad installed this application on his touch pro a week or so ago and it allows for fast and one handed text input.
It sounds like a huge gimmick. Can it easily recognise when N and O are trying to be pressed? What if you try to do a multiple letters? Do you just keep it held down or what?
