Alright, so this issue has presented itself to me today, and was NOT present before.
So my current setup is as follows: I have a desktop PC and a Banana Pi computer. Both are hooked up through HDMI to a HDMI switch.
This switch outputs to a converter that converts HDMI to VGA + miniJACK.
And for all intents and purposes, it works great. Using the Banana Pi on this system with no issues. However, booting up my desktop PC and switching to that, displays nothing but a black screen.
Plugging the VGA cable from the HDMI to VGA converter solves the problem, but renders the switch useless.
I would like to point out that this wasn't always the case. I had been able to use the HDMI on the board without any issues, but now it doesn't work anymore for whatever reason I am asking for help to find.
Additionally, the VGA was plugged in to my GPU, NOT into the motherboard. I don't plug anything screen-related into my motherboard.
I have attempted to change the BIOS settings in my desktop PC from using PCI to PCIex, with no difference (as it picks the first output, it likely picks my GPU anyway since no other PCI or PCIex cards are present).
On another note, I have also greatly reduced the amount of dust and other kinds of disturbances from the system, including per-device cleaning. This includes taking out the GPU, and carefully but accurately cleaning it with air, and a steady hand.
As can be verified from using the machine with a VGA cable plugged into the GPU, the GPU functions just about fine, and so far I have not been able to tell what was wrong.
Any help would be greatly apprechiated.
Does the HDMI port work if its connected to a normal HDMI device (ex. a TV)?
If not, its probably dead or something is misconfigured in the drivers.
