• Everything starting to run very bad. (Games, load times, even flash)

I'm not sure what's going on. Lately, all of my games run like total crap! In all my games, things that used to run perfectly fine, are running absolutely terrible. For example, I loaded l4d2. I started Dead Center, and my fps was 20. It used to be 50+ all the time! I changed everything to low, no difference! Everything looked crappier, but the FPS count was exactly the same. Also, the animations were choppy and so was just moving. Same thing with Tf2. I can't even play because everything lags so badly. Here's another problem. I was just trying to watch some Youtube videos, but the page had a flash ad. This ad made me lag like hell! I had to change the quality to low, which fixed it, but this problem is affecting all flash programs. I should be able to play any flash game on high no problem. Here's my specs Asus 4870 Intel duo core e6600 2.4ghz Asus p5k motherboard 2 gb of ram Vista 32 My computer used to run everything just fine, but now it's gone down the shitter! I'm all up to date on software, no viruses, defragged and nothings helping. Any ideas on what to do? [editline]10:03PM[/editline] Hm, okay... SpeedFan says my cpu is at 55c and all im doing now is browsing FP. Have I been cooking my CPU for weeks?
try 10.3 drivers
try 10.3 drivers
For what?
Graphics card
The update would work for this correct? http://usa.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=KHXbfBCo7bXr3ohF Just making sure before I go and update. Also, is this card possibly being bottlenecked by my cpu?
CPU won't all of the sudden bottleneck Make sure you aren't forcing AA or AF in CCC or anything.
Nothings being forced. The 10.3 drivers should work with my card right? No one ever told me if it would or not.
Do you have speedstep on in the bios (or whatever intel's coolnquiet thing is)
Do you have speedstep on in the bios (or whatever intel's coolnquiet thing is)
I don't know... How do I check if it's on?
I don't know... How do I check if it's on?
I don't know about intel But on AMD boards, you can go into the bios and go under CPU Configuration and check if it's on. Usually the bios button is either DEL or one of the functions, when you start up your computer it should flash your BIOS Manufacturer and then load up components, somewhere in there it should say "Press <key> to enter Setup/Bios" Press that key and then you can do what I said at the beginning, Bios -> CPU Config.

What now?
Just went to Frys and got a new fan for my CPU. The temperature before was 60-70C! Now it's 12-14C! Gonna test some games.

L4D2 is working just great! 50-75 fps most of the time.
