I have seen this posted hundreds of times and it is always rated funny and hilarious. Personally it's not funny at all, I do not understand the joke. Would someone please explain this

The baby dies, it's an awful attempt to add drama to an already shit webcomic.
The comic itself isn't funny, and there isn't meant to be a joke. It's one of Buckley's "serious" comics. But it's the photoshops and variations that people make that others find funny.
It's not funny at all. That's why people find that particular strip funny.
At least that's what I assume. It can be hilarious when edited onto other comics though.
It's a hilariously bad attempt Buckley made to add drama to his piece of shit story. The fact that the characters are so shallow and unlikeable makes it especially funny to see such a failed attempt at tragedy.
Even the art doesn't sell it. Look at those B^U faces.

To be honest i thought it was famous because of the lack of long walls of words in ever panel.
So the joke is that its so fucking bad its funny, and people make parodies of it by editing the original to add more humor?
