"pleasingly gimmick free"
fuck you that second screen was the only thing that made this not just another goddamn phone.
I would love to buy an LG phone, their design, displays and cameras are always top tier, but they suck so much at providing updates that I would't want to.

Seriously, the second screen on my V10 is one of my favorite features it has.

That said, it seems the "floating bar" will do virtually the same thing

And ultimately makes it not special. I can do a similar thing on my phone and I don't need to drop $700+ to do so. The second screen was unique and had special purpose among those that used it. Replacing it with a cheap software imitation just means they didn't feel it was important and had nothing 'gimmick'ey to replace it with, so they canned it altogether.
My favorite thing about the second screen is being able to have media controls ready to go no matter what I'm doing on the phone.
Good thing about the V30 is that its finally water and dust resistant now, but that's not worth moving on from my V20.
Also I miss the ruggedness of the V10, That phone was a fucking tank. I liked the rear buttons too.
The LG G3 and the V10 were pretty unique phones but every time a new version comes out they become more and more generic. I'm not going to have an upgrade until a hypothetical V40 comes out, but at this rate I might switch brands when the time comes.
