• Should I "Step Up"

I have an EVGA GTX-470 and I have the money to pay the 140$ cost of upgrading to a 480, however I wonder if my money would be better spent on CPU/MOBO/RAM upgrades, or if I should hold those off. Current Specs: Intel e8400 @ 4GHZ 8GB of GSKILL ddr2 1333 RAM EVGA 790i SLI mobo Random HDD

But on topic I will have the extra cash to upgrade down the line, I was just wondering if my CPU as of now is holding my 470 back and if it would be a joke to get a 480 since I would be "Insulting" its capabilities.
Could I get your old CPU???? Says the poor boy.. And yeah, the only thing you should upgrade is your CPU. What's your budget? The price of a gtx 470+140?
You can either spend $140 on barely upgrading the GPU or $500 on a new CPU, Board and RAM. I'd go the way of upgrading the CPU, Board and RAM and get something like an i5-750. Sell the old RAM on Ebay, you can probably get twice what you paid for it originally with memory prices so ridiculously high.
I don't think you'll get a much better CPU for 140$....
I don't think you'll get a much better CPU for 140$....
My budget is around 700$ so I'm probably going to get a 1366 board, a 930(for 180$) and DDR3 RAM
