Mods, please put in right area if I placed it wrong
I'm starting up college soon and I have never had a laptop before. I've done my research and it has come down to the 15" 2.4GHz Macbook Pro and the F series Sony Vaio. Both are great imo, but I plan on recording my music up at the university (and I know the Macs are great for that) but I'm worried about it not being compatible (like sending my papers or homework to my professor). Now, I do have the money to buy the mac so financially its no problem and I rarely play computer games, mostly just TF2. So, I've come to the facepunch community asking for some advice, should I go with the mac, which I've heard is amazing and will be a asset to my music, or should I play it safe and get the vaio so I know my homework files will be compatible?

Sony Vaio. No competition there.
Macs are horrible pieces of overpriced paperwork.
I find that Vaio laptops are also a bit overpriced for what they offer...
