• What's the best way to convert .flac to .mp3?

I got some .flac files off a friend and they don't work in my media player. What's the best way/program to convert them to .mp3? I know there's a few different programs out there, but I wanted to know which one is superior before trying them all.
I think you can even use Audacity for this task, since you'll have a wide range of selections, and it's free.
If you want to maintain the advantage of filesize from flac, and still have a player that plays all audio seamlessly and tenfold better than WMP, get foobar2000. The only real disadvantage is not being able to play movies. Great equalizer as well. As far as converting goes, I'm really not sure man- even as an audio engineer I rarely have to convert between the two as I find WAV files to be the main source of my work- when I have to do so, I convert with whichever program I am working in, and they all cost a pretty penny.

I don't know much about iTunes and its deal with playing on different things, but I am sure there is a way around it.

If so, I may have found the solution for you.
