wow a 2d indie game that isn't a pixelated pile of shit
That looks so good. I want it
Gorgeous? No.
Good? I guess, by the looks of it it's a 2d game in a 3d world, nothing really special.
eh, it's nice
but it's no braid
Art is fine, different, interesting, and quality. Gameplay looks kinda boring, but it's probably too early to tell.
Also, those sounds effects (especially the frequently used lightning bolt dash thing) were annoying as fuck.
Why do platforming games have to be 2D

because bubsy 3d

Or Uncharted, or Sly Cooper, or Infamous or Crash Bandicoot.
Oh wait, Mario is the only one that counts.

How the hell are Uncharted and Infamous plataformers?
Besides, 2D platformers are better.
Art style does look rather cliché from the screenshot. Video says otherwise. As an indie connoisseur, this is what I expect from good indie games, not pixels the size of hams just to appeal to a nostalgic minority. Unless it can be done right, which is rare.

Because only a few company's and games do it right while almost all of them do it wrong.

At this point, indie game don't use the cruddy ~retro~ style because they think it's best. They use it because a lot of times they're only programmers and it's an "art style" that they can actually get away with.

because making a 3d game takes more effort
[editline]23rd August 2012[/editline]
to be fair though this looks like a legit 2d platformer where they put effort into the artstyle and everything, its not one of the games that uses 2d graphics as an excuse for not being able to work in 3d
Absolutely love how smooth the animation is.
I get a Looney Tunes vibe from the art style itself.
Too bad that the gameplay looks simplistic.

There's not very many 3D games that are able to pull off just straight platforming without being awkward.
And the ones that do pull of it don't feel nearly as smooth as the 2D ones. A lot of that being because you don't have to account for the other axis so you have less things to react to and a more linear direction.

It's much easier to make a 2D platformer than a 3D platformer. Most developers would rather take the easy route and make a sidescroller with much more polish.
I think it looks very nice, has a very Disney feel to it and I like it.

I still stick to the idea that 2D platformers just play better than 3D ones.
Yeah they're easier to make but there's a lot of successful 3D indie games. Why do you think it is they never happen to be platformers?
