When i saw the start of the trailer i was real excited. Then i expected a mobile game. This is better but it left an awful taste in my mouth. Not even age of empires II. Honestly nowadays a wouldn't have been surprised if it was a pachinko machine.
How comes this looks worse than Age of Empires 3? I'd rather stick to the sprites then
How comes this looks worse than Age of Empires 3? I'd rather stick to the sprites then
Because all they really changed were models and textures, the old school animation and movements make it look awkward.
Theyre going to need to change so much that it'll just end up being AoE2 with much less content.
this just reminds me how much I want an AoE4. real shitty cock tease, to be honest
How the hell are they going to get around the population limit? Even with the Rise of Rome expansion pack AoE 1 has a population cap of 50. That includes workers. At least all of your units, even catapults, only count as 1 unit, but 50 pop cap is still crazy low for an RTS. Also (unless I am remembering incorrectly, it has been nearly 2 decades since I last played AoE1) you could not have workers queue up building production. As in, you could not have a worker start building one building and then queue up like 5 more buildings for that worker to build after they finished with the first building. On the plus side the new sprites look really good. Almost makes it look like a proper 3D RTS instead of a classic 2D RTS with a shiny new coat of paint. And I'm really looking forward to the remastered soundtrack.

They did that for AoE2HD, where they did have a option for higher population limits
