It's not just that, but for many gamers Steam is the only distribution platform that they know, or at the least it's the only platform that they'll buy games on or for.
It's kind of sad that games on PC have gone to the point where smaller developers need to release their titles on Steam or otherwise their game will flop. Kind of goes against the advantages of the PC being an open platform (compared to consoles), and oh yeah not to mention that Steam is pretty restrictive DRM as well.
This came out already? Wow. I should pick it up soon.
Just glancing over that title really confused me for a second.
It's probably just me, but I think endless runner games are pretty much one of the most boring genres out there.

to be fair, being sold on steam has to be amazing for any dev financially.
