First time building a PC and want to get the best build for my money.
Wants by priority
A very good graphics card
i7 or better Processor
6GB or better Ram
Things I don't really care about
Flashy Lights
I don't know every component that a computer needs and don't want to miss anything so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Gaming computer? You won't need an i7, no real performance difference in games to an i5 2500K.

And what games are you going to play? Do you need an OS, screen, mouse and keyboard.

I need an OS but no screen mouse or keyboard. Also I should add that I might also be using it for a server.
What kind of server?
Anyway, an i5 2500K (a good cooler with that), a P67 with CF/SLI capabilities, something like a GTX 580 or a 6970 if you plan on a single-GPU three-screen setup, an Enermax ~850W PSU, 6GB RAM, an SSD and a Samsung Spinpoint or two.
I can't be bothered making the build now, but I'll be doing it tomorrow, unless someone makes one before me.
First of all: Lower your budget. I learned that you're not going to need or want to spend $2000 on a computer. It's going to outdate, no matter how much you spend on it. Lower it to somewhere around $1,300 and save the rest to get a new computer when that one gets outdated.
And I don't suggest using one computer for gaming and a server. Use the $700 to get yourself a fairly decent server.

Thanks I think i will get this just a few questions though
1. Anything special i should know when building this
2. Install just the os on the solid state or what?
[del]3. I don't see a graphics card on that printout (am I just missing it or?)[/del]
4. Are you sure that all of these parts are compatible?

1. Don't force anything into a slot, except the RAM. That takes a little force. Read instructions on the case for installing the mobo, and on the Hyper 212 for attatching it to the mobo/CPU.
2. Mount the ssd and hdd into the case, but just plug in the ssd. Install windows, then turn off your computer. Plug in the hdd and boot back up. Install any programs or other things onto the hdd that you don't want on your ssd. And look up.. symlink, i think it was.
4. Yep, all compatible.
noob question, whats a SSD? o.O i know whats a HDD tho xD
simply put, it's like a HDD, but think virtually no seek time, faster read/write, but smaller and a whole lot more expensive
oh I see. thanks :D

and a great boot drive for those who aren't that patient
As for the very good graphics card, wouldn't the GTX590 or HD6990 come in question here?

The 590 is $750 and the 6990 is $725, and that's just spending way too much on the GPU. I think $2000 is a bit excessive for a computer although it is certainly doable. You don't want to be spending too much on anyone component, but the only reason you'd get a 590 or a 6990 is if you had a virtually unlimited budget.
