I'm running on an old card right now (8800GT) and I'm planning to upgrade in a bit. I have a budget of at least 300 bucks to upgrade. And I was planning on just buying two 5770's and Crossfiring them. But at the same time I read other threads and I'm seeing people say "Buy the GTX 460"
So I'm stuck inbetween those two. Which one do I get? Or do I just disregard both ideas and entirely different card? What do I choose?

Your Thoughts?
My Build :
AMD x2 6000+ 3.0GHZ (Base Speeds)
8800GT 512MB OC edition
2x 250GB HD's. Both WD's. (Western Digital)
4GB Ram (PS: I'm using two sets of different sticks. But i don't know the info about the actual speed or anything on them. How do I find this out)
If you were happy with your 8800gt go for a GTX 460.
get the 460
if you do that, in the future you can SLI it with another 460
Which has better performance? I'm trying to play my other games like GTA IV and Bad Company 2. They have horrible performance on my card D:
SLI a 9800GT and an 8800GT.

No
Get a 460.

gtx 460 > 5770.

Im running an 850Watt powersupply. It should have two PCI-E cables correct? I have one currently plugged into my 8800GT. And the connector of the plug has a PCI-E on it. And I see another plug that's just hanging around, Looks exactly the same. Looks just like an PCI-E plug for a GPU but it doesnt say anything on it. Is it the right cable? (Because the card has two outlets for the PCI-E cables)
gtx 460, definatly better for the money, plus the added physX bonus?
Would probably run dx11 alot better than the 5770, i've heard that the 5770 is a very low end gamer card, where as the gtx460 is highly reccomended.
Probably the best value for money card there is at the moment
In terms of Crossfiring a 5770 how is the performance comparison? Is it still a wise choice for the 460?
Use Memtest or Sisoft Sandra to identify your memory without opening the case.
SLI'd gtx460 would still be better than crossfired 5770
SLI'd 460's would give you a huge amount of performance for a relatively low price.
I only have 300 dollars to spend though. @_@

If you have $300 to spend, get this.

Sounds pretty good actually. But I don't want to spend all my 300 dollars. I mean, It's possible to buy that card. But the 460 doesn't sound that bad either. Because if I have to buy some new RAM to get rid of my old sticks then I might need that extra cash left over from the GTX 460 I might buy.
I'm still in love with my 8800gt.
Out of everything you have said, i would say, re-new your ram and get a gtx460.
There is also room to get another gtx 460 in the future.
What would be good? the 768mb Model or the 1gb? For the 460?
Which has better performance? I'm trying to play my other games like GTA IV and Bad Company 2. They have horrible performance on my card D:
those games are really CPU intensive, it's probably not your graphics card causing poor performance there.
What would be good? the 768mb Model or the 1gb? For the 460?
1gb model.
I'm still in love with my 8800gt.
That CPU will definitely bottleneck the GTX460.
The 460.

He can upgrade that later on.

I'm fairly sure that the 5770 is still a mid-end card, while the 460 is a mid/high-end one.
1gb model.
Only if you have a high resolution monitor. 768MB is plenty.
I've seen the 1gb getting better FPS at the same resolution compared to the 768mb version.
Only at high resolutions.
we don't even know the OP's resolution.
Running at 1600x900. And how badly will my CPU bottleneck my GPU? Will the bottleneck be that bad? Or just slightly? I'm planning to upgrade to a quad core AMD based chipset later on. So far I'm just upgrading what I can. It's still ok though right?
[editline]06:05AM[/editline]
If I upgrade my CPU, Which would work the best?
So far I'm upgrading to a Phenom based Processor. Socket type AM2+
What would be a good choice to upgrade the CPU with? PS: I just got an increased budget. But I'm still choosing the GTX 460 for the GPU. So now I just need a new CPU
(And if possible a new heatsink).
My Mobo type is a MSI K9A2 CF-F V2 AM2+/AM2 AMD 790X ATX AMD Motherboard
"Newegg page for the mobo I have : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130172 "
What heatsink and CPU should I get?
[editline]06:11AM[/editline]
I'm thinking about this CPU? Any thoughts? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103644&cm_re=Phenom_II_AM2%2b-_-19-103-644-_-Product
I have this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103808&cm_re=phenom_II_955-_-19-103-808-_-Product
And an 8800GT.
I've not yet seen a game I can't max out at 20fps or more at 1280x1024.
FYI, AM2+ works with AM3 (I think they might be the same thing)
I know this because I'm using and AM2+ mobo.
