I swear it's the same image for almost every Xbox One article.
Didn't they say that about the 360?
Every time I see that image (Or just his face in general) I am called back to that scene with Steinman in Bioshock. Ugly... Ugly..! Ugly! UGLY! UGLY UGLY UGLY!
Didn't they say that about the 360?
Yes? Or are you implying that 360s will self detonate on the release day of the XBone?
I don't doubt that the Xbox One will continue to work after the next generation arrives. The question is for how long.
Yes? Or are you implying that 360s will self detonate on the release day of the XBone?
This is Microsoft. Anything is possible at this point.
Look at that fucking brave little smile he's pulling "Won't you buy it? Please???"
Yes? Or are you implying that 360s will self detonate on the release day of the XBone?
Well, haven't like a third of them self destructed over the course of the console's lifespan?
I can't believe it's coming down to a company having to announce that their product will not stop functioning after a successor comes out.

If the next system launches. ftfy
The Xbox one 'certainly' plays games? I'd 'certainly' hope it would, or it's not much of a console.
What is he wearing, is he trying super lol xD random? Really, Xbox has taken the image of gamers and made it that of weird bros who enjoy fattening foods 24/7.

People are asking if when the next xbox comes out (presumably called the Xbox 360 again following MS name conventions), if the Xbox One will continue to work. Since the Xbox One will require a constant connection to the authentication servers (or at least once a day or whatever), when those servers shut down presumably the console will become unplayable. Valve has said they have a plan for steam, on a similar subject, that will allow you to download all your games and run them DRM free in the case that Valve collapses.

It was a joke. Still, I wonder what sort of protection they have on these authentication servers? If a hacker could take it down they would stop every single Xbox one game from functioning.

I'm almost certain though that people will find a way to crack the Xbox One authentication process on modded Xbox Ones. Of course, they've also made some games dependant on support from cloud processing as well so that'll be more of a problem I guess. Either way I'm probably not going to get one - pretty much every generation I end up swapping what console I get. In order, I've had: an N64, a Dreamcast, a PS2, and an Xbox 360... so I haven't actually had a console by the same company twice :v:. Definitely considering a PS4, but the PS4 not having backwards compatibility really hurts it's appeal for me because if it was backwards compatible I'd be able to play PS3 games that I never played as well.
dam the redhead on the video is hot

Xbox one shall be the same position the ps3 was. Playstation will take the throne again. Also That girl in the video is so pale, very hot.
But if it was backwards compatible, it would probably cost like $599 USD like the first release of the ps3
Not saying it would necessarily be a better business decision or there wouldn't be drawbacks, just that backwards compatibility would be a big selling point for me, and many others who didn't have a PS3.

Like everything from the way he holds himself to his goofy smile and the way he sort of shakes his head when he talks reminds me of my old sixth form's principal, who everyone used to take the mickey out of for stuff like that. He's adorable but compared to sony's guys who look like they'd pull up alongside you in a convertible, light a cigar with some spare money they have lying around, steal your girlfriend then speed off I just can't take him seriously. Maybe that's why they get him to announce stuff; it's harder to get mad at him than some super confident man in a suit. It's probably why peter moleyneux is still in the games industry too; he's so soft spoken and goofy looking people forget he's an evil shyster.
Didn't they say that about the 360?
And are 360 content or even XBLA servers going down?
