Cool. now blizz can you fuck off and give us our dota2 skeleton king back?
vale stole dota blizzard stole tf2
Stop posting this in every Overwatch thread. [editline]8th November 2014[/editline] You didn't even come up with it.
Valve took Dota Blizzard takes TF2 Well it looks okay, I am signed up for the beta.
There's Battleborn, Battlecry, Gigantic and now Overwatch. I think we got ourselves a trend here. Not sure what this means for Tf2, if there's enough similarities for these games to be legitimate competition
vale stole dota blizzard stole tf2
I'm expecting a "Valve announces new RTS title" headline soon

At least we seem to be exiting the "brown" phase of gaming
I'm expecting a "Valve announces new RTS title" headline soon
Half-Life 3: Now a Competitive RTS.
I'd be happy if people stfu about comparisons because this game will play nothing like any of them.
Half-Life 3: Now a Competitive RTS.
I'd play it, plenty of people have attempted a half life rts in the past
I'd be happy if people stfu about comparisons because this game will play nothing like any of them.
the game obviously draws inspiration from TF2 but that's not a bad thing. pretty much every piece of creative work EVER draws inspiration from something. and calling this game a ripoff is just ridiculous, it seems to set itself apart from TF2 in plenty of ways.
This reminds me of the not-so-great Korean game Archeblade more than TF2.
I'd be happy if people stfu about comparisons because this game will play nothing like any of them.
It's a fair comparison. TF2 is the king of class-based team shooters, a genre without many memorable games. Comparisons are going to be made.
It's class based, so it's going to strike up similarities with TF2. I think it takes a lot of influence from Unreal Tournament, personally.
"Our game is completely different from TF2! In TF2, the Sniper class can either use a rifle or a bow and arrow. In our game, we have TWO sniper classes, one uses a bow, the other uses an arrow! In TF2, the Engineer uses a turret. In our game, we have THREE classes that use turrets! In TF2, the spy is shitty, but OUR spy has an ability that can kill everything in the room!" I'll admit that the mobility features in Overwatch look really fun, but trying to say that it's different from TF2? Come on. Just out and say that you're looking to take the TF2 formula and do your own thing with it.

But here you are saying that TF2 has a patent on snipers, bows and turrets and somehow convinced yourself that Reaper is at all like the Spy...
Just out and say that you're looking to take the TF2 formula and do your own thing with it.
That's what this article is basically saying though?
“I think though that as you start to play the game, you realise the differences there are to Team Fortress 2. Sure, there are some similarities in the team-based objectives, but already at this show we have twelve heroes here. Team Fortress 2 does something very different. They have nine roles that can be customised; your Demoman could be suddenly charging your with a sword. But we’re going in a different design direction than they are.”
If you look between the sanitised PR talk, he's basically saying "Yeah it's TF2, but different."
I hope this'll be better optimized than TF2 :v:
I'd play it, plenty of people have attempted a half life rts in the past
Which one is coincidentally is named Overwatch.
wow this is pretty much literally exactly like tf2 you have classes non-realistic artsyle fps and they think they had the audacity to take away skeleton king? Wow. To the steam forums with I.
more multiplayer PvP Rage experiance simulator that we actually need... great... Overwatch might look good but I know for sure that I may not like it that much because PvP brings in the beast within me.

I don't think it's a TF2 ripoff. The developers actually seem to care about it.
I wish people focused more on how fun it looks instead of how similar it looks to something else. All you need:
Yeah, not that simple.
Yeah, it is if you want it to be. I don't care about the drama with publishers, all that matters is the game.
Yeah, not that simple.
How exactly is it not that simple? [editline]9th November 2014[/editline] Genuinely. Explain it to me.
How exactly is it not that simple? [editline]9th November 2014[/editline] Genuinely. Explain it to me.
Gameplay footage today tend to be rigged to appear "fun/exciting/well developed" for that particular segment of the game (in order to generate hype), whilst the rest of the game have been neglected. One of the examples are Aliens Colonial Marines, if I would had followed the "is it fun? yes/no" then I would had bought A:CM, because, it looked fun (it really did when I first saw the early game-play footage of it).
