Well, where can you go after fucking aliens? Literally.
"We're definitely considering
Kind of a misleading title. They didn't say it for certain. However, as much as I love the current cast of characters, I think it may be time to start anew.
Well, where can you go after fucking aliens? Literally.
Well you could become emperor of the galaxy or something, but I imagine it's pretty damn hard to top playing as the POTUS and fighting off aliens using a gun that fires dubstep.
Great. Now make a branch universe from the second game keeping the semi serious fashion.

shut up seriously theres one of you "waaah its not sr2!" people in every thread that even mentions sr4 its getting old go play sr2 if its so fucking great
So their plan is possibly to do different alternate universes almost in pairs?
That's a pretty interesting way to do a franchise. Would keep things fresh at least.
Make it super futuristic (as in around the time of Red Faction since they're in the same universe) and less goofy.
Not news, in the Steam store it says ''The epic conclusion to the game that changed all the rules!'' and it has been like that for quite a long time.

Fly out to space and punch a black hole in the dick (it's a post-SR2 Saints game, their black holes probably have dicks now).
Saints Row V: Gangstas in space.
Clearly Saints Row 5 will take place on another planet when the gang is teleported there. Then they rise up to run the planet and reconnect a link to Earth so they can own both of them. It's the only illogical thing left to do after this.
Add RFG Destruction physics to the 5th and call it "Fuck Shit Up"
Also the Saints are transformed into Vikings by inhaling poisonous Viking breath after an archealogical dig.
saints row is out there appealing to a huge audience that loves the trademark goofiness of the series
what the hell is up with people asking for more realism?

I think I smell a Mass Effect prequel.

Because goofiness didn't bring people to saints in the first place.
Saints row 2 was the perfect mix of 'this is fucking dumb' set in a serious world. Such as driving around in a septic truck and spraying peoples cars. In real life nobody is going to do that, and the way the characters in the game reacted to it made it brilliant.
It had it's OTT moments that fit in well, it basically pulled off what San Andreas tried to do.
SR3/4 then pushed the boat out and dropped the serious side to it which is what people got pissy about, I mean I love SR3 for it's own reasons, but the story and gameplay doesn't top SR2.
For me Saints Row 1 was the end of the saga. They took it in the wrong direction, totally killed it for me.

have you played sr4? from the accounts ive heard its a pretty serious game despite the ridiculous premise.
For me Saints Row 1 was the end of the saga. They took it in the wrong direction, totally killed it for me.
go play fucking gta then
I'd rather just have a Red Faction game in a similar style to RFG, but better.
I'm still wondering if you'll have the superpowers in Saints Row V and how they're going to justify it (not like they need to) :v:
I'm hoping SRV will be the true spiritual successor to SR2. An actual gangster game.

You do realize that by the end of 2 they were hardly a gang, right? They owned Ultor, a major corporation. That isn't something a gang does.
actually, it kinda is
they're less of a street gang by then, and more of a crime syndicate, but still illegal dudes all the way
Well, I mean Gang in the way The Saints were a gang in SR1 or like the Bloods or Crips. They wouldn't be bothering with people in such straits of life after SR2, hence why they fight another Syndicate in SR3. So yeah, I guess you're right.
shut up seriously theres one of you "waaah its not sr2!" people in every thread that even mentions sr4 its getting old go play sr2 if its so fucking great
i'm a "sr2 purist" and i agree.
are games not allowed to be good if they're not the same thing? i'd rather have sr4 be more like sr2, but that doesn't mean that sr4 won't be way cool.
You do realize that by the end of 2 they were hardly a gang, right? They owned Ultor, a major corporation. That isn't something a gang does.
Exactly. That's why they should have started with an entirely new cast of characters.

The story and gameplay weren't as good because they weren't as fleshed out as SR2's.
Has nothing to do with the balance of goofiness/seriousness.
They could easily change that with SR4.
The first trailer for SR4 said it was going to be the climactic chapter of the series. This isn't news
because fuck people who like things that are earlier in the franchise
wahhhh the starwars prequels are fucking terrible but im gonna be perfectly happy about george lucas's fucking around because we still have the originals!
(and i like the look of sr4 too)
no, people can not like it, but when in every thread about sr4 there's people bitching about how saints row is ruined and how it should be more like saints row 2 (and thats the only thing they say, parroted by countless others) its gets really tiring. you dont like sr3, cool, so didint a lot of other people. still looking forward to saints row 4 tho, dont care if its not like saints row 2.
and guess what i like saints row 2 more than sr3. but what do you expect them to do? do another rebuilding the gang storyline? thatd be dumb. from everything we've seen sr4 is going to be way more feature packed and more cohesive than sr3 so i just dont understand what people are complaining about.

My dick would be rock hard if that happened.
I mean it would be absolute unbelievable hell to make the map, but imagine going in on a session and managing to level the entire city.
[editline]8th July 2013[/editline]
Also, people should keep in mind, it wasnt Volition's fault that the goofiness outweigh'd the seriousness in SR3, THQ wouldnt let them do dick.
