It seems that The Empire is the overpopulated faction on average. Also, there are a ton of servers and they all get hammered, the server population for early access is insane.
I'd consider it if the game was not membership based or had a free trial.
it'll go F2P in a years time, just look at DCU and Star trek:online.

Not entirely comparable.

Neither of those were ever popular. This will not go F2P.
damnit i thought this was for a new Jedi Knights game
Empire side is much more fun to play; the starting areas are more engaging, the stories are cooler, and generally the appearance of everything is in a nice grey-black-red.
This game is pretty damn awesome, I just wish Coruscant was more fun to play.
But I don't like being the bad guy
If I had a disposable income I'd consider this. They should really release a trial too.

No chance. This game has a much better brand, budget and studio attached than any other mmo in history. It'll no doubt be the last (or one of, depending on what direction Blizzard take 'Titan') subscription-based mmos, but for now this will easily tuck into second place behind Wow with a healthy amount of subscribers.

Well, even as a Sith you can be quite good. Bounty Hunters and Imperial Agents in particular can be very 'good' (comparing to other Imperial people) so that doesn't need to scare you off those.

If it's like most MMO's they will release a trial a few months from now.
Really if you wanted to try it you could have easily gotten in the beta; everyone who was registered on their site before 11/11 had guaranteed access.
Pretty terrible game to be honest. Aside from the quest/dialogue system, it plays rather poorly (both in performance and gameplay).

I think with WAR still not being a F2P, that would be surprising. Although I'm mainly just surprised WAR still isn't F2P.

I didn't have a PC until a couple of weeks ago and my laptop couldn't run it.
I don't expect this game to go F2P anytime soon, the other games people mention seem rather unfinished, this one isn't.
I prefer my MMO's P2P, most of the time you pay more with F2P MMO's, they make the illusion and screw you in the ass later on in the game.
Been playing it since last Tuesday.
Personally I loved the beta besides the horrid Mass Effect dialog system
While this will never fill the gaping hole that SWG left in my soul I am looking forward to this. The story and dialogue looks both engaging and exciting.

It's better than reading a wall of text to find more about a quest background/lore.

Better than good, bad, and neutral guy now isn't it?
"OH WOW LOOK AT HOW GOOD SWTOR IS WOW IS SO DEAD"
One month later, everyone's back playing WoW.

Yeah uh okay. I've been playing MMOs pretty much since the first Everquest and all I can say is I've never seen a launch with this many players and this was me saying this before the official release date. It's not going anywhere. Yeah the client itself needs some optimization but overall it feels more "finished" than the dozens of MMOs I tried out at their launch. It's only going to grow bigger and bigger.
I thought tomorrow was going to be a day of everyone gathering up in Jedi Outcast or something, was disappointed :smith:
I don't like the star wars universe at all, but I really hope this will be a great success
If it rivals with WoW, Blizzard will finally have some competition and take out their thumb from their asses and actually step it up, they've been lazy as shit these years with WoW.
