• Buying A Win 8 Laptop

So i've been putting off buying a new laptop because of the Windows 8 release. Currently i'm using a laptop from 2007 running windows XP and i want to put a shotgun in my mouth and pull the trigger. It's time to get me a new Win 8 laptop. I'm torn between getting a hybrid or just a laptop. If anyone here has a hybrid and wants to weigh in with some opinions, please do. I'm curious what things touchscreens do better, and if it's worthwhile or just more of a gimmick. As far as price goes, i'd be willing to pay up to $1000 USD. Here's some stuff that caught my eye: http://www.cnet.com/laptops/lenovo-ideapad-yoga-13/4505-3121_7-35477652.html http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-3121_7-57538595-220/asus-shows-off-windows-8-and-rt-lines/ - What do y'all think? I guess i still have time to make a decision since a lot of stuff is still pending release. I'm just losing my mind with my current laptop.
You obviously want to make sure you are getting windows 8 or windows 8 pro and not windows rt Find specs you want and go with the best match. If you can, get into a store and get your hands on them.
What are planning on using the laptop for? Medium/light Gaming? General use? A little of both?

Buy a Windows 7 laptop and upgrade to Windows 8 pro. Most stores will help you offset the cost.
I live near a futureshop, but other than that i don't have many options. I'm probably going to end up just ordering one online (i live in canada) so maybe newegg.ca does that.
I don't know if i trust refurb'd laptops.. I hate to keep recommending the same thing, but Vaio S15. Outstanding build+cooling, 650M, 1080p IPS screen, ~$1000 Note that it's more of a focus on portability and good build quality than performance compared to some of the other models listed
