This is actually pretty spooky.
I really fucking wish that AMD would catch up in the GPU business but at this point I suppose they must feel content with continually matching Nvidia's previous generation, year after year.
Not sure I want to jump on the hate bandwagon yet. So far it is one person who claims this.
"From all we have talked to, the issue of not allocating GPU inventories to non-GPP partners have not been spelled out contractually, but is rather done on a wink and a nod," Bennett said.
Not saying NVidia wouldn't be ones who would pull that but I also think that vendors like ASUS would not join such program and then stop to market AMD cards (under ROG label). That just sounds silly, contractual or "done on a wink and a nod". AMD is also not without faults, so the story originally getting pushed by them is not a good thing either.
What do you think Gameworks was? They've been pulling this shit for years.
What do you think Gameworks was? I can see a situation where somebody wanted an AMD card, but had to eventually buy an Nvidia card because a specific sub-brand agreed to this program and had to only make Nvidia cards. Like, somebody loved a specific brand cooler setup (like TwinFrozr or other crap), or maybe they wanted color variation - and that company stopped making AMD cards. It's not a common situation, I guess, but still. Also, GameWorks kind of fucking stinks. I remember thinking an Arkham Knight GameWorks effect was really impressive, then it turned out it was actually the game itself, the effect was super tiny and unnoticable. Other times the performance fucking tanked while the gain was negligible at best (except maybe a few Far Cry 4 effects)
