Hi guys.
I'm having a rough time on maintenance with my PC. I use a lot of files and I'm pretty sloppy ending up with full desktop etc. I figured I'd install CCcleaner again (I use it periodically) and it found about 40gb of temp files being injected in my RAM straight on boot.
What do you guys recommend for keeping a good folder structure for filing and for performance keeping?
To me there's nothing you can do: that's just what windows does.
Installing Linux was probably the best thing that has happened to my computer experience; it doesn't have problems like this.

Sorry I don't want to sound like you should switch-- I just want to make sure you're aware of the alternatives to your problem.

I have a copy of ubuntu running. There's just so much compatibility issues. Even gor basic things like sound cards. Linux doesnt support it.
I plan on running Windows on a SSD, then have everything else on a 1TB HD.
you could try that, if you need to clean, just move everything you need to the SD, format the HD, then put it back. if you wanted to get crazy, You could also try 1 SSD for windows, 1 HD or SSD for important stuff, and 1 1TB GB drive for "Useless junk". Afterwards, "Primary, Secondary, Misc" on the desktop and that is all.
...that or just get an external harddrive for extras...
I also personally have desktop folders, "USB" for textures and pictures and music, then fraps screenshots, Drop box, steam games.

...What.
I guarantee you don't have that much RAM. Are you saying Windows is filling up your drive with junk on boot? Because that makes way more sense.

Sound devices work fine in linux, what are you talking about. Just about the only sound chip that doesn't work properly in Linux are the Intel HDA chips, and only under certain situations.
