In business, you have to take risks despite failures. So obviously hes going to keep taking risks. The other only option is non-exclusives, or just sitting there twiddling their fingers because its the safest bet.
In the video games industry you have to innovate, and when you innovate you are bound to fail at least once. This is completely normal
