I doubt that anyone will remember Angry Birds in ten years.
You know Hitler once said his Reich would last a 1000 years!
Look where he is now.
He was remembered, if nothing else.
"Mario is a great role model for anyone in games, it's been built for almost 30 years now. Hello Kitty is 40 this year and Mickey Mouse was launched in 1928 as a black and white cartoon and that company is now building theme parks based on the character on every continent. We launched an iPhone game in 2009 and now 45 percent of our business comes from physical products, including drink--we're giving Coke a run for their money. Our friends at Disney are still a bit ahead but our trajectory looks good. We're just getting started."
You might want to throw in something about Steam and Atari for good measure.

Yeah, I really doubt that.
It's ridiculous how an app has spawned so much merchandise and crap, but you can't really blame them for milking it for all it's worth, it's totally what I'd do.
Hey guys remember Yeti Sports ?
Thought so

To be honest, AB has the benefit of actually having a lot of physical products out there. Yeti sports didn't

Holy shit, those two words alone send me years back.

You'll recall that all three of these characters debuted so early in the lifetime of their respective mediums that there literally wasn't any opposition.
How many smart phone games are there, again?

Jeez I just realized that game is older than a good amount of rust forum posters.

Operating Facepunch and letting Joseph Postal Mengele massban the Rust forum?
Almost as arrogant as Zynga with farmville.
But I haven't seen anybody who still plays angry birds.
I'm gonna become a super app coder and invent Angry Ducks and make billions
why dont corporations recognize how temporary fads are
or do they know, and they're scared as fuck
How are those birds driving carts? They don't even have fucking limbs.
Every time I see anything Angry Birds I can't even help but say "Are you fucking kidding"

Because the developers of Yeti sports realized that nobody is going to give a fuck either way over time
I have AB on my phone.
I think.
Yeah I do, and now it's uninstalled. It's not even that fun, even when bored. I'd rather play something like Hill Climb or read the nostalgic Goosebumps books. I can get through one of those books in about 2 hours. Beast from the East and Piano Lessons Can Be Murder are the greatest
I wouldn't mind the angry birds craze if it was an original game, but it's literally crush the castle. They've made millions and millions stealing someone else's game idea, then act as if they've created a legacy? wtf
How did Angry Birds even become so popular in the first place? I've only played it once but it was awful compared to the games it copies. The controls felt stupidly sloppy and imprecise.

Because they made it for mobile devices

And because children who have ipads / iphones which seems to be a lot now
Some of more recent Angry Birds levels actually start to mix things up with interesting mechanics, but they still have a too much randomness for a physics game.
Bad Piggies is probably my favorite part of this franchise. It's still fun to mess around in sometimes, whereas Angry Birds gets old quick.
Why is angry birds even as popular as it is right now. I really don't see why.
