9800 GTX artifacting randomly and blue screening/freezing entire computer

I don't know what's going on, it doesn't overheat when it happens (as shown by EVGA precision showing normal(for my particular card) temperatures of like 56 during games and 46 during whatever) and it doesn't even do it during games, it does it when I'm just on browsers or something. It seems to fix itself when I turn my computer off for awhile, and come back, but it will come back...what do I do? I have latest drivers.
Card could be dying.
Submit RMA if your warranty is still valid.
It isn't valid, and I guess it's time to beg my mom for a new video card u_u

If your short on money, Paying for it to get repaired might be cheaper. I don't know the exact price, But I do know that it won't be as expensive as buying the same card all over again.
I wouldn't buy another 9800 gtx, that's kinda dumb. Might as well get like a uh... 5850

Where do you plan to get your new card from?

X6 is worthless if you're just gaming.
And you don't need 700 for that build. 600-650 would be fine.
Chuck it in the oven
no seriously

Comes to a total of $607 with shipping and all. I can even save 50 dollars with mail-in rebates
That work? That's as cheap as I can imagine it gets.
Take everything plastic off of the card, lay is FLAT on tin foil on a baking sheet on the oven at I think 300 or 600 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Should be fixed, or you'll still have the same broken card.
Hmm...
Do you mean white squiggly lines in places? I've had that before.
I'm happy with my GTS450 right now
Yeah that's pretty much what it is, if it happens again I'll try and get a picture
9800GTX+s like to do that for some reason. My friend had one, I had one, we both had the same problem. Hrm...
Did...it end up dying altogether?
This has happened to my old 9800 too, I just used my 2 year policy for ZOTAC and got a GTS 250 for free.
Your card is dying
9800s are terrible, unstable pieces of shit.
Make sure you fan on your card is actually spinning. I had a problem where I didn't know it wasn't spinning, and my PC would randomly shutdown.
Put it in the goddamn oven, this is no fucking joke.

This worked wonders on my old 7900's
