This one is actually named "minecraft", they are straight up copying the game.

oh wow now that is the worst, that it even got accepted into the app store is impressive.

Microsoft certainly does, though. I can't see this app surviving for too long considering it uses the Minecraft trademark.
This happens all the time and not just with minecraft.
The fact that it is vaguely related to Minecraft is probably the only reason this article was published. I don't believe anything was ever said about the scores of awful Grand Theft Auto/DayZ/*insert popular game here* knockoffs(mostly in name) that people churn out with Game Maker.
