Crysis 2 multiplayer should have been like crysis 1's. No DLCs and huge maps, why did they change it?
What the fuck have happen with Crytek?
Wow, looks as exciting and non-boring as going to church :allears:
Why would anyone buy these ? Whats the gain ?
Wait, wasn't this supposed to be free? Oh fuck that EA. Fuck that.
I'm not sure who's decision it was, but I've lost respect greatly again for both the studio and the publisher.
I can't even log in to the multiplayer portion of this game so fuck this
I was considering buying this game when it got cheaper, now I won't get it anyway.
And people say its not like CoD.
And people say EA is better than Activision. They have this online pass shit, they have 60 USD as a new standard, they force their developers to work faster and to fit the games more to the CoD player (see Bioware games), some games come with a lot of annoying pre order DLC shit and now they release Map packs for money.
I hope that finally convince all the hypocrites out there who shout "Yay EA! Boo Activision!". Now they only need to realise that games like Duty Calls are also aimed at Battlefield. Because from what I observed they hate CoD only because it's from Activision. They welcome the same boring cliché-ridden scenarios in EA's games.
Wow good thing I didn't buy it. I tried the multiplayer demo and didn't like it one bit and now it's getting worse. Crysis Wars is much more enjoyable for me.

I like that freedom, like Battlefield.
Yeah I like Mesa map for nice freeroam map and Steel Mill for classic TDM fest.
Oh and also custom maps are nice if they aren't halfassed.
I am so disappointed in them for doing this.
Oh well I won't be buying this.
Fuck you crytek
I bet these where the maps they where making in the beta. I brought crysis warhead only because they said the sales depended on if they where to create crysis 2 or not. I expected crysis 2 to become a PC only game that continued the story with nomad with great optimization and all. Never in my wildest dreams would i think they where making a console game, that's almost just ported to the pc. That's the reason why i didn't buy crysis 2.
Deary me Crytek, should have stayed with Crysis Wars type MP because it was rad. I would be surprised if MP is still active.
These "four all new maps" seem to be ripped from the campaign, well not counting the ship but the dock looks mighty similar.
I only buy games from Indie developers for a reason.

mostly
I don't mind, I'll buy everything in a pack once it goes on sale anyway.
Crysis 2 multiplayer should have been like crysis 1's. No DLCs and huge maps, why did they change it?
Because Crysis 1's MP was pretty feh. It took the better part of half a magazine to bring a guy down when he was in armour mode, meaning unless you'd got them right out in the open there wasn't much stopping them from simply turning a corner and hiding or sprinting off somewhere to regenerate their armour, leaving many people (self included) feeling cheated when you find the same guy again and he sprints off when another magazine of yours is gone. Power Struggle was a decent concept but it's presently filled with spawn/base-raping helicopter/VTOL pilots and was too fucking complicated for an MP mode, the fact that it was either that or free-for-all didn't help much either because let me tell you now that a 32-player FFA server is a fucking nightmare.
The huge maps were a great fucking joke, and they should never have been implemented, or at the very least scaled down considerably. Vehicles made getting around quicker but even then travel still felt like a chore when chances were you were just going to get blown up by a VTOL or sniped from across the map by the many Vasili Zaitsev's you'll find dotted around the area. It was worse if you didn't have enough points for a (decent) vehicle and 90% of the time, other players are too selfish/impatient to just stop their own vehicle and let you hitch a ride. The worst part of it though was that even with the full 32 player compliment, the maps just felt empty, there was no sense of 'holy shit THIS is a near-future war' that the devs were aiming for. Crytek should have upped the player count or scaled back the maps in order for Power Struggle to have a chance of working well.
As it happened they didn't, and thus C1's MP was average at best.
C2's MP, while many of you complain, is a step up, alright, I'll admit that I was disappointed by the lack of vehicular gameplay (though they'd have had trouble implementing such gameplay in a confined city space). There's much less terrain to cross to reach a firefight, and the ledge-grab, while not entirely revolutionary, helps add a sense of mobility to the game. The suit powers I was sceptical of at first (and for the record, I STILL think that Strength jump should be strength-jumpier and that sprinting should at least be a few seconds faster than what it was at present) but they add a neat hook to a familiar formula, even if cloaking is the power used most often.
As for the COD-ified thing? What? Why are you all still complaining about this? You goddamned know that the formula set out by COD4 is the most popular method of manshoot in MP games, is it original? Fuck no. Is it balanced? It depends on outside factors, ranking up, earning new weapons and suit modules/perks/whatever give you a choice in playing style, and the killstreaks are, compared with other games - actually pretty tame when you compare, ironically enough, I think the one that caused the biggest shitstorm is the one that's the easiest to take down - the gunship, on the opposite end of the spectrum, I think it's the Nanosuit 2.0 killstreak that's the most unbalanced (though you need to bear in mind that Nanosuit 2.0 doesn't make a dude immune to damage, it greatly reduces damage yes, but trust me, like any good shooter - throw enough mud at the wall and it will come down, and if you ain't got, well then you run from the bastard and try not to stick in a pack).
As for the pricing, neither EA or Crytek said once that the DLC would be free, it was we who simply assumed it was, which in this day and age, is actually pretty naive of us. Also, console port? Really? Just because of that 'press start to begin' in the demo? Portal 2 has the exact same thing in its loading screen, and even if it was a console port because of it, did that REALLY change the fact that it's easily one of the best damned releases this year? Perhaps even the decade? I'm seeing no evidence to suggest that C2 is a console port, and I'm pretty convinced now that a good chunk of the PC Gaming community is paranoid beyond all sorts of delusions.
With all that being said though, do I really think this is worth buying? Nah - it is just a bunch of re-skinned SP maps after all. I cannot for the life of me, understand the hate that this game is getting (unless it's the login thing, in which case I can relate, and FYI if you want to be able to, sorry but you're going to have to create another MyCrysis account, unless Crytek get their act together and sort that shit out in a future patch).
Please note that I am not trying to convince anyone here to buy the game or the DLC, and if it seems like I am, I apologise for it, because that, as I have mentioned, is not my intention.

How the fuck is Crysis 2 MP a step UP? are you stupid? it just copied COD, plain and simple it's COD with a nanosuit
The huge maps are a fucking joke? then don't play them crysis came with a deathmatch mode for people like you, with inferior gameplay needs
Crysis was hard, it is a game of skill you either are good at it or you'll lose. constantly.
Games like crysis are the future, battlefield style gamemodes are the future, Crysis 2 a step up? holy shit man, when newer consoles come out crysis and battle field gameplay will be ALL YOU SEE
[editline]18th May 2011[/editline]
FYI if you don't like a hard game then you're just a casual gamer, go play angry birds
Crysis 1 was a much better game and people used to call it a techdemo hahaha.
If EA wreck BF3 like that did Crysis then I wont be happy.
I remember back in the day when most DLC's were free, demos were free. But look at us now :smith:

Microsoft have influenced everyone and everything to make the world a more "evil" place.
C1 mp was awesome and totally underrated. With some more polish it would be a great mp experience.
Running away in speed mode, then cloaking and watching as the enemy walks by was very funny.
And with some more modding love it would make a great soldiers vs predator mod. In C1 I felt a small, but good community. In C2 it's just cod style run and gun, then get dropped into another server. The community just isn't there anymore.
And the tiny maps and no vehicles really takes away from experience.
Would be cool if they had vehicles that had suit powers. Go into armor mode or make your vehicle invisible. Would be fun too I think.
Microsoft have influenced everyone and everything to make the world a more "evil" place.
I still find it silly how they didn't allow free tf2 console updates because new weapons count as a dlc.
Why did they even remove the old multiplayer? It was kickin rad.

Because consoles+mainstream = dumbed down
