Jesus Christ this is cringy as fuck.
Steve Hogarty everyone.
Steve Hogarty everyone.
Honestly I'm jealous, I want his job. I'd love to just be able to take a big deuce on a piece of paper and get paid for the day.
That 4790k gonna be on fire with that stock cooler
"This is PC Building 101" Says the guy who bought a pre-built. 4790k with a stock cooler. Wow. But since he got a pre-built he is unlikely to overclock it anyway which makes spending the extra money on a K version even more hilarious. This guy is an idiot.
I liked it. [editline]16th July 2015[/editline]
"This is PC Building 101" Says the guy who bought a pre-built. 4790k with a stock cooler. Wow.
I liked it. [editline]16th July 2015[/editline] Yes, that's the fucking joke.
Well, again, it's an overelaborate shit joke.
"a solid 60 fps" lol no 144hz monitor.
"a solid 60 fps" lol no 144hz monitor.
Now we've got two three types of people. Those who don't care about frame rate. Those who understand that 60 is the standard And those who circle jerk over anything higher than 60
mad nerds alert please evac thread
This guy is probably one of the worst employees for pcgames n. No surprise someone so shit at articles and writing is working their though.
I'm not sure what to make of this article. It's kind of stupid, kind of a waste of time to read, but also kind of funny. I think it also serves to state how simple it can be to 'build' a PC. But for it to be posted on a PC gaming website, it just seems like hes pandering to the wrong audience. If anything that article should be posted on a website that shares both console and PC articles. But on a PC games website it looks dumb because everybody who goes there already has knowledge about PCs.

It's a good addition to any screen.

Often I find PCGamesN's joke articles funny in a really dry way. But I think the writer was banking on that so that he could write this awful article in a way to boast about his already semi-out of date computer. It tries really hard to make those funny punchlines like "K because it can process emotions" or some shit. That and he didn't build it. What a shame.
Of course it's the reason I want PCGamesN out of the newsnode AGAIN.
Yes, that's the fucking joke.
it's not a very good joke.
Yes, that's the fucking joke.
i wish i had $1000 to spend on a joke
Those who don't care about frame rate. Those who understand that 60 is the standard
You can be both of these.
I don't understand if this article is a huge satirical dump, or unironic "Look at my PC guys"
Bad article.
Now we've got two three types of people. Those who don't care about frame rate. Those who understand that 60 is the standard And those who circle jerk over anything higher than 60
Two types of people: Those that say 60, or sometimes lower is good enough and just play. Some spread myths that you can't see more than 60. Those who care and recognize the difference and believe it's worth the sacrifice in picture quality for lower visual latency and less tearing. If your going for cinematic single experiences don't buy a high hz monitor and get a good IPS or VA panel. On the other hand, If you consistently buy half a dozen games on steam and then proceed to play nothing but same FPSs you've been playing for the last 5 years, then get a high hz LCD with backlight strobing. It will be a good investment. Don't tell me that the mouse doesn't seem significantly slower with vsync on in source engine games.

Looking at this article again I honestly believe it is satire.
You do realize you can get a monitor that's both IPS and higher than 60hz?
Yes, if you have more than $250 you can gamble with korean panels or spend a lot more for a named IPS, but overall the technology doesn't seem to be there given the lack of available options and failure to have an IPS in the first page of 120hz or higher in this display lag database. http://www.displaylag.com/display-database/ Eventually I'll get an 1440p IPS as my second monitor, but for now this samsung 20 inch TV has decent enough color for the second monitor.
i wish i had $1000 to spend on a joke
then if theres one day i make good money, ill be telling you you can make it happen instead of just thinking about it. its just an article about a guy who can't give away his old computer to someone like me who just wants it without the meaningless competition. after all, the money he might make selling it becomes like dust. He might do better off just getting rid of it by giving it away to someone it would mean most to. Well, this isn't the century to discuss that.
I bought a new computer recently. Should I contact PCGamesN to get my article published? I'd have to trump Steve's artistic ability, so I'll make sure to add some sort of ninja.
The fact that people can't tell the difference between this joke article and most other more serious articles from other websites shows how terrible articles in general have become.
I like how the ShackNews bot got canned because of the excessive amount of shit articles it was producing and then now we got people at PCGamesN working their heart out to take that place, truly respectable.
steve hogarty fools you again! hes satire you guys and hes quite hilarious, its rare to come by somebody who seeks to offend the groups on the internet who pride themselves on being able to take a joke
