So I play Project Reality mod for BF2, and there is a lot of pixel sniping involved. What is it called when moving a mouse over by the smallest possible increment is too big of a distance and you can't properly aim at a small target from far away? Is there any way to fix this?
Annoying? Is it called that? I think it's called that. Also, turn down your sensitivity.
Bad reading ^ I don't know if there's any special term for that but the only way you could get around that is by trying different positions around the area so that the crosshair lines up or just try moving closer to the target.
If you have a mouse that can change sensitivity on the fly in-game that is even better. Also, try to keep your wrist as still as you can. Kinda hard if the guy you are trying to kill is moving though, heh. Good luck....
So if I turn down the sensitivity it will move less in the smallest increment? This is incredibly annoying because guys can be lying prone and sitting still, and you can't hit them because of this.
your mouse DPI could be really small.

You will find that it really helps out for games like BF where it is slow paced.
In games that allow it, I pair aiming with moving to fine tune aim (especially if I need to keep my sensitivity up for close by enemies)
Would increasing your monitor resolution help mitigate the problem or does the game lock you to a certain amount of degrees of rotation? If so, you can create a virtual resolution in your GPU control panel so you can render at 1440p or 4K even with a standard 1080p monitor however things will be tiny and blurry
When I play on my laptop it happens, but not on my desktop. Plus my mouse is shitty, so that doesn't help either.
Well, for tiny ajustments at long ranges, I might suggest just shuffling your character an inch or two left or right. Generally more easy to control than mouse-movement when you're working with such tiny targets, since you're moving paralell to the point of aim, instead of pivoting your firing line.

It's called pixel skipping.
turn down the sensitivity or raise your resolution, or just walk slightly to the left or right, but this won't help with aiming vertically. Probably should get a mouse with a higher DPI, for gaming I'm pretty sure optical mice are better than laser.
It's called pixel skipping.
I found this on the PR forums, I just didn't know what the fuck it was called properly before. http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f10-pr-bf2-general-discussion/107915-pixel-skipping.html
I dunno. I tend to call it "Justified Game-dev Homicide".
