• Can a mouse break a GPU?

Earlier in the year, I had my GPU fail twice. My system would be running, then the GPU would stop outputting video, and the system audio would be stuck in microstutter loop that happens when it hangs. On reboot, the GPU would still not output video, and its fans would be at full speed. Yesterday I got a new mouse. I used it for a couple of hours yesterday, then left my PC on when I went to sleep. Surely enough, this morning the GPU wasn't outputting video and its fans were at full speed. When this happened previously, it was around the time I had purchased a new mouse. The first and second return GPUs I got from my RMA lasted about two hours. After the second RMA I started using my old mouse just in case. That RMA lasted me from about October until just last night. I'm having a difficult time understanding how it is possible for the mouse to be the cause of the problem. Is anyone aware of this problem and if there are any solutions to it? If specifications are helpful: Motherboard - Gigabyte B75M-D3H revision 1.2 GPU - GV-N770OC-2GD PSU - EVGA Supernova 850 B2 Each RMA I did previously took about a month each, so I'm not even going to bother this time. I'll be looking at replacement parts, and the motherboard is looking to be the place to start. [editline]16:06[/editline] Separate artifacting problem was due to a faulty DVI cable.
Looks to be a bad video cable.
Pepper;49400296']Looks to be a bad video cable.
Ah! The cable was definitely bad. Switched it to an HDMI and the video's fine. Thanks! However, the GPU issue still remains. Maybe something on the motherboard isn't grounded properly?
What happens if you try the card in the bottom PCI-e slot?
