Hello,
I was looking to get a 800-900 dollar gaming computer, now, this is NOT included with monitor, keyboard, and mouse. But I do need those, so the 800-900 is for essentials. If you could get a monitor in there and the budget staying under $1250, that'd be good. And if you could get a Lycosa and Deathadder in there with that, that'd be superb.
Wow, that's amazing Gamer. I hope you don't mind but I'm gonna go with the Antec 300 just because I like it. But, wow. Just wow. Your good, you should be a mod or something.

Question, is the 5850 better then the 280, because I'm on this alienware and it can get 50 FPS with max settings on WoW with a 280.
No, the alienware isn't mine. It's old.
[editline]01:34AM[/editline]
Or are they good in comparison?
The 5850 is better than the 280.
But if you're using this PC for WoW, then you won't need a 5850, a 4650 would run it at max easily.
It's not only for WoW, its for others too. CS:S, Crysis Warhead, MW2, ect.
Yeah, a 5850 is going to be good.
Don't forget the combo deals:

And there's rebates on the monitor and PSU.
So you're going to go under budget.
hey aren't you that guy that loves Alienware? Why aren't you getting one of those?

Hey, aren't you that guy that trolls every thread?
No, I never said I love alienware. I said why does everyone hate it.
Why would you get an Nvidia SLI board with an ATI graphics card?

Changed it to one for Crossfire.
Why would you get an Nvidia SLI board with an ATI graphics card?
Can't you crossfire/SLi so long as you have the PCI-E slots?
Can't you crossfire/SLi so long as you have the PCI-E slots?
It won't work out well unless it is made for it.
I never said I wanted to crossfire..
I never said I wanted to crossfire..
It's a good upgrade option.
Later on, when you need a graphics card upgrade, you can just get another 5850 and crossfire instead of buying a whole new card.
Ok, so I've been able to put in a 5870 while only paying $1300, but is there any small things I can change to get it at 1250?

Yeah, get a 5850.
A 5850 is plenty for your games.
But I want to play crysis well.
The 5850 will be fine. Just overclock it a bit.
What's wrong with a 5870?
There is nothing wrong with a 5870, he's just saying that you can save money by getting a 5850 since it will do well enough considering the games that you want to play.
I play loads of games tho. Doesn't the 5870 work better in Metro 2033? Cuz I'm gonna be playing that too.
Overclock a 5850. It works just fine.

Or you can sell the 5850 and buy one of numerous faster cards that will exist by the time the 5850 is obsolete.
Go for a cheaper motherboard if you won't be using cross-fire.
Just keep your 285 and save some money
