I want to upgrade from the ricer PSU in my system, I want 850W at least becuase I want to be able to use it with bigger GFX cards that come out in the future. It needs to be crossfire compatible. This is the PSU I have been thinking about: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139009 My budget is about $120 but I can go over it by a small amount. Thanks
overkill waste of money starving kids in Africa etc. cards are using less and less power, look at the 5___s you can crossfire them on 600W
Can I crossfire 2 5870's on 600 with a amd 965 CPU? and 8 Gigs of ram and huge haf 932 fans
Graphic cards aren't the only thing that requires power
You're right, and lucky us that is full system load.
You're right, and lucky us that is full system load.
Right, I can't seem to read today
You would be smarter off get a 650W PSU, 600W is getting a bit too close.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005
I cant crossfire 2 5870's with that, not enough pci cables. :(
I cant crossfire 2 5870's with that, not enough pci cables. :(
Get adapters.
Get adapters.
I don't know what is it with these adapters, I apparently broke a card by them. XFX actually said so that these adapters aren't good for your card when I called the custommer support.
Get adapters.
I am not going to buy something if I need to fix it before I can use it.
Yeah i agree with that but you are being a bit stuck up, or i'm getting that vibe for some reason. Like you are asking for our advice and shooting down everything anyone suggests.
I am not going to buy something if I need to fix it before I can use it.
All you're doing is putting adapters on. Is that so hard? If you're not willing to work a little bit now, you're going to be a failure in life.
This one just dropped $30 if you want to bump up to 750 watts. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?Sku=S35-1151
If you really want $20 over budget http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139009&cm_re=corsair_850w_power_supply-_-17-139-009-_-Product
overkill waste of money starving kids in Africa etc. cards are using less and less power, look at the 5___s you can crossfire them on 600W
A higher wattage PSU doesn't use more power if the other components don't change. In fact, high end power supplies are more efficient so they end up using less power in the end.
