• Half of monitor not working

I have this old monitor (That I am using currently) that has, suddenly, started having a lot of white lines in the middle of the screen horizontally. Underneath them is just black, while above them is normal. What is wrong with it, and is there a cheap fix?
Probably some part of the vertical scanning circuitry died. Depending on the monitor, sending it in for repairs may or may not be worth it compared to the price of a new monitor. The circuitry nowadays is usually very small and very compact, it would be just about impossible for you to fix it yourself.
Monitors can die too.

Check the cable if it's plugged in correctly. Also test another monitor on your computer to determine if there's something wrong with the graphics card. Basically, rule out all other possibilities before you go replace your monitor.
I made sure all cables were correctly plugged in, before I made the thread. Also, I just changed monitors, and this one works so that rules out it being the graphics card.
Make a screenshot and see if the screenshot is whole (I presume it is) After that it could be annything from the VGA plug in your video card to the screen you are using. If your screen has multiple inputs you might want to try another one.
