Ok so, I'm going to be getting this card: [url]http://www.amazon.com/BFG-Tech-NVIDIA-GeForce-GDDR3/dp/tech-data/B001B5Z67U/ref=de_a_smtd[/url]
But I have no clue what extra things I need, i.e new psu, pci-connectors, what. So I was hoping you guys could post everything I need here.
Also if you could tell me what to do with PCI-Connectors, I have no idea about those.
Which parts do you already have?
you need at least 600w PSU, PCI-E slot in your motherboard, and some free space inside your case
why not a GTX285 ?
also why amazon
We will need your current specs
Wouldn't the 4890 be faster? And it's like $200.
In your case i recommend you wait till sept 22 and get a 5850.
Wait for the 5 series.

So you want to get a weaker PSU? You would have to upgrade it if you added anything at all to the computer, and that is a waste of money.

Add this guy too while you're at it.

He presses unhide. He has been on my ignore list for around a year.
don't search up 600w and buy the one that has bright lights and says "pwn3r" or "0wn3r"
a better, and cheaper card came out just days ago, and you're on to buy that shit?
What the fuck.

A wonderful thing called an "alt"...
Mkay, September 22 you say, Hmm I could I guess, but I dont know, I do have a price limit here, in the 270$ for the card, no limit for the extras, and I dont know, GAH, finding out which card is a good card and which one is the most current is so complicated. Help me out? Just tell me what card is most current and what I would need for it and here's the specs I can get you.
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT (you can see why I wanna upgrade.)
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ 2.30 GHz (tell me if this is bottlenecking me.)
OS: Windows Vista Home Basic
RAM: 4GB DDR2
That's all I could find out. And also, I mainly want an NVIDIA card because of the PhysX abilitys, but doesn't really matter, NVIDIA or ATI, I don't care. As long as they can run Far Cry 2 on Ultra High DX10 lol.
[editline]11:45AM[/editline]
And scratch the price limit.

This should be bannable, it contributes nothing to threads.
Also OP, don't worry about PhysX, most games don't even touch it anyway.
Mkay, well then, I dont care about the PhysX. But the most reason for this thread is last time I got a card, I put it in and everything, but it wasnt doing anything, so I called, they said it need a 6-Pin Power Connector. I don't even know what that is. Is it something that should be on your PSU, idk, help with that Power Connectors plz.
Your power supply should have one of these.

and goes into one of these

Mkay, well I found my specs, PSU, 350W ATX12V PSU, and I know that probably wont do the trick for any new card, could you help me find a PSU that has one of those and would work with the latest card?
[editline]12:00PM[/editline]
And my PC is a Formula 430 Gaming PC, so I wouldnt work about space inside, its gigantic.
[editline]12:00PM[/editline]
worry* lol work. x3
350w definitely won't cut it, go for something 550+. I'd suggest a Corsair for incredible reliability, it's modular too so you won't have something resembling spaghetti in your case.
