If it's overkill (that is, for most new games; I don't need it to run on the highest settings), I'd appreciate it if you could take a look at the card options and recommend one so I could save money. If the processor isn't good enough, same deal, but that's the lowest it'll come with so that shouldn't be too much of a problem. Honestly, if this just not a good computer for gaming, I'll just go with a build (I still have a list of parts from newegg that was very generously given to me in my last thread), but being as lazy as I am I'd like to get a decent computer shipped to me fully assembled. Any help would be appreciated.
I actually ordered the same graphics card today. The whole computer in general does look good. But I recommend if you are getting a computer that expensive is that you build it yourself or upgrade an office-standard computer.
Well, the thing about upgrading an office standard is that I've looked at a few, and they usually don't have options of that quality. But thanks for the advice, I'm just glad I found a decent computer in my budget.
Since the HP with that particular configuration comes out to ~$750, here's a better one for the same price. Get Undomain's build. However I would get a 4890 instead or GTX460.
...ok, I don't want to sound unappreciative, because I really do appreciate you going through the trouble of putting together that list, but I'm probably not going to use it. Look, I know building a computer gets you a much better one for the same price, but I'm 15 and have finally amassed enough debt from my parents for all the shit I've done around the house and raking/mowing the lawn and all that that they've finally agreed to pay for my computer for Christmas. However, since we already have two desktops, neither of which could even run team fortress 2, they want me to get a laptop. Talking them out of that was hard enough. I know building it wouldn't be too hard, but these are parents. My dad's hung up on making a big deal of ordering all the parts and assembling it. If I had to I may be able to pull it off but honestly if this computer can run games like Starcraft 2 at all I'd be content. God damn that was a lot. Anyway, all I want to know is if this computer would hold up to most of today's games. As long as it does that, it's fine.
Its undecent. Mario 64 at 2fps maybe :colbert: [editline]11:23PM[/editline] I mean its ok but its a prebuilt, ya know?

I was lucky to get parents that trust my intellectual ability to build a PC. They were surprised still I was able to do it, but yeah. Also, I hate how ignorant parents are in all these threads. It's a computer not a car you are building. It has only 10 parts you would need to use. Tell them that, that's what worked with my parents.

Get the same computer but with 4GB RAM, and build it yourself. Unless you're running really graphics and CPU intensive games at a high resolution, that should be enough to run them at high/max.
It's a pretty good build, I see no problems with this. I know building a PC has a lot of perks, but if you feel confident in buying a prebuilt, then go for it.
