• I've set up a build, everything OK?

So before ordering this i decided i consult some professional internet heroes. Price isn't of concern as i've got that figured out as long as this list doesn't change drastically. Beeing able to play Crysis 1650x1050 on high settings with 30 fps minimum would be nice, not sure if the processor needs to be better for that. The game running the crytek engine will mostly be focused on lots of characters in some areas, lots of pretty foliage and long distance varied terrain. I'd assume this build garantees 60+ FPS in source games on highest settings with HDR turned off (do not want D: ) Case : CoolerMaster HAF 932 Motherboard : Gigabyte MA790X-UD4P Processor : AMD Phenom II X2 545 3.0 GHz 7MB Harddrive : WD Caviar black 640GB 7200rpm 32MB RAM : 2x Corsair SO-Dimm 2GB DDr2 PC2-6400 800MHz Graphics card: Sapphire Radeon HD4850X2 2GB PSU : Antec TruePower New Series TP-750,750Watt OS : MS Windows Vista H basic 64bit I'll say thanks in advance, and it's great that you guys help around in this forum.
Everything ok, but I dont like your choice for the CPU? Are to trying to get a Dragon Platform? Cause you got quite expensive pieces, and then a low.end CPU. Get a intel E8400 if you want to stick with dualcores

Country? And no, the E8400 is better than the 550. The 550 is on about the same level as a E7400. OP, go for Vista Home Premium, and make sure it comes with the 7 upgrade coupon. Also, you don't need a PSU that strong. A good 500W will serve you fine.
Not strictly performance. It's a better value and is more upgradeable.
You can easily overclock the E8400 and get it to a higher niveau without needing to change diissi, cooling system and so on. Its one of the best price/performance processors here
If you are lucky with you can unlock cores on an x2 550 BE, someone on overclock.net did, the comp even saw it as a 955.

the E8400 is better at stock clocks, so what happens when you overclock!
