I can't decide.
But the alienware does look sexy.
Edit: Alienware is the winner.
You're essentially paying 200 quid for an LED keyboard. But the Alienware does have better graphics.
Yeah i understand it's £200 for a LED keyboard, But I'm not paying.
So your technically saying the alienware
if you don't have to pay for it just get the Alienware.
I've heard that the Alienware laptop hinges have a tendancy to break...
I think that applies to the older models, I'm not sure about the newer ones.
[editline]10:12AM[/editline]
just noticed that the XPS is actually an Alienware laptop from about 2 years ago, a friend of mine has itand it's pretty good. but go for the Alienware laptop because of better gpu, quad-core, ddr3 ram, and led keyboard.
They keep changing the XPS packages like daily.
One day they have one graphics card in it, the next they have two crappier ones in it instead.
I'm going to go for the Alienware i think, Thanks for the advice :fuckyou:
Definitely go for the Alienware.
Im guessing your using it as a desktop replacement? if not have alook at the 13" gaming laptops as they will most definatly be easier for moving about than a 17"
but FUCK YEA go with teh alienware laptops, make sure you max out all the specs (and try to sneak in a monitor or two :lsd:
Go for the Alienware, but don't expect any wonders from the battery.
Go with an Asus

look up the model number

I can't get it from anywhere except Dell.
It's through a business.

Battery doesn't bother me.
I don't mind plugging in.
Just as long as you aren't opening and closing it alot, the hinges are iffy, you should be okay
Are the hinges iffy on the new models though?
I have 1 year premium warranty, and by the sound of the reviews if anything goes wrong dell come licking your ass replacing it all.
Also, can anyone tell me if the alienware will run games decently?
Yes very well it will. I dunno bought the battery will last out from the wall, I managed over a hour playing WoW/COD5 all on highest settings on my acer 6935g with a 6cell battery (nvidia 9600gs) but if its a desktop replacement/lan party PC then that doesnt really matter. You might want to get a nice 24" monitor to go with it and a nice mouse aswell with all that money
I already have a 37" TV i can link it up too, And the wireless mouse. Just a keyboard and I'm set ha ha.
Like i said, the battery doesn't really bother me, wherever i go there's a plug somewhere.
But it does have a 9cell battery instead of a 6, so that might add a few extra minutes on.
Just as long as it runs things nice and smooth, and looks good then I'm good.
Hopefully putting my order down tomorrow night :fuckyou:
my G50VT-X2 gets 3.5hrs on a nine-cell
Wow, that's a lot better than i thought it would be!!
It comes standard with the 9cell, no upgradeable options.
I guess it kinda needs all that power for the amount of LED lights in it.
Fuck having a christmas tree this year, I'm just going to get a stool and put it in the corner on disco mode.
