Is this a good build?
You're so close to a 2500k you may aswell just go for it.

$610 with rebates (you added yours into the price I may aswell) but couldn't fit a
hard drive into budget however you said you had one.
Also chances are your RAM isn't DDR3 so it'd be useless.
I like the AMD Phenom much more than the i5, sorry for not saying so.
My current Hard drive is close to running out of space and I just want it so I don't lose anything.
Finally, I will check later to see if my RAM is DDR3 or not, I was sure it was though.
EDIT: Also, I like simple cases the best.
So you're willing to give up performance because "I don't like it as much"?
Sounds like you don't want advice at all, just confirmation.
I didn't realize how much the i5 is better than the phenom.
I didn't research much on it, and assumed since it was 6 core it was better than a quad core.
Sorry, kind of new to PC building from scratch.
EDIT: How is this? I have no plans to overclock so I don't need the 2500k.

Damn, forgot the PSU. I assume 430w with the Case isn't enough.

$620 /w rebates, you said you didn't want the HAF 912 but it's definitely
the best value for money of pretty much any case, you can turn the light off too and it looks fairly good.
Also the power supply isn't the greatest but it puts out 52a (624w) on the 12v rail and two 6870's with an i7 765 X58
only use 450w on load so you should be good to crossfire later on.
I don't know if you saw the above edit, but is a 430w enough power?

Sweet, thank you much. I didn't know you could turn the lights off.
Winner for you.
Not if you want to upgrade later, plus in your build you have a 2500 not a 2500k (the "K" means it's unlocked
meaning you can overclock, which is a pretty big deal) and you have a H67 motherboard that doesn't support
overclocking at all nor crossfire down the line. Not to mention I wouldn't trust a 430w power supply that comes
with a cheap budget case coolermaster or not.
The build I put above is much better.
Yeah, I said in the post I didn't care about overclocking, but eh it's only like 10 bucks more.
EDIT: Also, the stock fan for the i5 is all I need right?
Shadaez will probably come in soon and lay down some sweet combo's, he usually does.
Alright, so I should wait a while before deciding?
Thank you very much you have been really helpful, I was looking around and found that you have helped a bunch of people with their builds.

get 2x2 RAM rather than 1 4GB stick, make sure you get the combo with the free shogun 2, too http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.701834
there's seemingly no good deals going on right now

great now i have to find something
I enjoy it, plus I learn a bit too from other facepunchers (only a few though, fuck you Satanix all you do is disagree).
Give it a few hours, one of the key things is making sure you can upgrade later on, especially seeing as the
6870's scale so well in crossfire you'd be silly not to get another in a few months once the 7XXX AMD cards get here
and to have to buy a new motherboard and power supply just to do so would be very annoying, getting a good crossfire ready motherboard now
and a power supply that is ready for it now will save you money later on.
And overclocking is so easy now you'd be silly not too, it's already a big selling point on a lot of new processors that it's a given you should be.

Fuck I always do that, just rushing some parts together and I always seem to put a single stick, not meaning to ofcourse just happens.
Also fuck Shogun 2, I'd rather have the dual fan just for it being easier on the ears.
Yeah, the only thing I kept in my cart was the Video Card with Shogun 2 and Deus Ex free. That's a damn good deal.
I'm going to spring for the 1.5tb just because it's only 5 dollars more.
Also, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231422 , is that good?
You're basically paying like $50 for the card if you put the price of the games in too, AMD are kickin' rad sometimes, although I'd still take the dual fan over Shogun 2 personally but probably because I already own shogun 2 and wasn't a huge fan of it.
Also regarding your earlier question about the stock fan being enough, it's enough for an overclock of around
4ghz, some people have gotten 4.5ghz on the stock fan although there's a lot of factors involved.
Later on when you get another 6870 (inevitable really) you can pop in a cheap aftermarket one like a Hyper 212+ and get 5ghz comfortably, or something
beefier like a H100/NH-D14/Dark rock pro and get higher, but the stock cooler will be good enough for now.
Alright, thanks.
Also, why don't I just chip the extra 3 bucks for 3 fans? Wouldn't that make it nearly silent? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125357
Also, found 8gb ripjaws, same price..

Heard from a few people the gigabyte one rattles under load occasionaly when things
get pretty hardware intensive, plus it looks ugly.
Your call though, according to reviews the gigabyte idles at lower temperatures, doesn't really matter though GPU's can withstand some serious heat
and the difference between them is negligible.
Also forgot to mention, with the XFX one you get DiRT 3 aswell, says it on the page but not in the basket, so if you want Shogun 2 go with the single fan
XFX one, if you want DiRT 3 go with the dual fan.
I don't mind what this all looks like, since it's going to be inside, anyways.
I just want the case to look nice.
Also, opinion on the ram?
Read what I edited on my last post, bottom bit.
And RAM wise you want 4gb (2x2gb), for games that should be more than enough.
XMS3's have great timings and the 1600 is cheaper than the 1333 (only $17) so you may aswell go for that.
A bunch of people are saying that they don't honor the rebate for the XFX..
EDIT: Nevermind, those are the older reviews. Nobody complaining anymore.
Rebates confuse me, I'm glad England is a simpler land.
