• Computer won't boot/get out of hibernation

So yesterday when I tried to turn on my laptop, the screen remained black. (as in, turned of) Nothing happened and I tried to turn it on several times. Nothing. Then I plugged in an external monitor and after a few tries, the screen flashed and I got it to boot. During the "resuming windows" screen, my laptop's screen stayed black, but the external monitor didn't (obviously). When I got to my desktop, it finally worked again and I could remove the external monitor. I have a legit Windows 7 Ultimate copy and it's an Acer Aspire 5520g (pure crap). What could be the problem? Is it hardware or software? (I don't think hardware, because I'm typing from my laptop right now) I think the black screen doesn't really matter, it's just that it doesn't even get to the BIOS, the screen stays black. Sometimes, the fan starts blowing really hard periodically. [editline]5th February 2011[/editline] Should I try a normal reboot? Maybe the saved OS state got messed up?
