As I said on twitter, PLEASE make this. We _need_ a Mario Party styled game for PC so fucking bad and this could fill that easily.
Bit disappointed that the whole Street Fighter mixup only really comes in from the environment and characters and not the gameplay.
Still, loving those character design, especially the first mexican and his nose, having the environment interact always mixes things up as well, Mario Tennis did that pretty well.
Is Rust cancelled again
Rust is the codename, Deuce will be the final name.
Reminds me of Disney's Mulan.
Tennis Racket promotional weapon for Rust pls
Reminds me of some other arcade like tennis game, but I forgot the name of it.
Looks cool tho.
This would be a real fun game to play with friends if refined a bit

I imagine that revision is on the cards this being its first devblog
am I really excited for a tennis game
I know street fighter's being brought up a lot but I'm getting a nice sega soccer slam vibe from it too
So from what I can understand all the dosh and extra money received from Rust is being put into smaller well polished arcadey games?
Awesome, this and the twin stick shooter are genuinely games I would like to play.

Except this is more like Mario Tennis or whatever the fuck it's called.
That was interesting. It was like watching Dragon Ball Z but playing tennis. So Dragon Ball T.
Looks really cool, but there needs to be some more fluidity in the movement/animations when returning the ball.
It'll make for a fun party game. Keep it up Ian!
I like where the art style is going.
Reminds me of Mario Tennis
OH MAN!
This must mean Rustlight is canceled.
Seriously though, this looks awesome.
4 players yes please
holyfuck this is great
this actually looks cool :v:

I never played Mario Tennis, but if Mario Strikers Charged Football is anything to go by I agree. It's by far the best football game I've ever played.

Thanks Facepunch Studios. We only have 2D plateformers or FPS on PC. I'm glad too see something fresh and new.
I agree that a game like Mario Party would be awesome.
I didn't expect a game like this from Facepunch, this is really cool
I gotta say the whole idea/concept is looking pretty good, and most importantly it totally stands out from other tennis games.
Before I watched the video though, and after reading the article about garry's fascination for arcade type games and so on, I was kinda expecting a 2.5D Fighting-type Tennis game, with 3D graphics and the arcadey effects etc. How crazy would that be?

That's not unique to Street Fighter, nor is it unique to tennis games.

That's what it reminds me of. I remember playing it quite a bit and I'm not usually one for sport games. And I'm really liking the art direction.
I'm really into tennis games (especially arcadey ones) so I'm looking forward to this.
Damn you Garry, now you've let Ian cancel Riftlight to make this! When will the madness end!
