All bets are off for Steam sales. Far Cry 3 was out for less than a month when the winter sale hit so I knew a AAA title that new wouldn't be on sale, so I bought it for $60 9 hours before it went 50% off.

It'll probably go on sale again for at least the same discount during the sale, so it might be worth waiting just for the chance it'll go lower.
